Tao Xioming教授は、2002年より香港理工大学のテキスタイル，衣服学院で、繊維工学分野の教育研究が主である。これまで、イギリスのTextile Institute, アメリカ繊維学会等の会長を歴任し、700以上の論文発表があり、世界でも有名な研究者。研究内容は、スマートテキスタイル，ウェアラブルエレクトロニクス，繊維複合材料、紡糸方法の開発など。

Dr.Gary Gowans は英国ダンディ大学のグラフィックデザインの上級講師及びコースディレクターを兼務。また、認知症とともに生きる人々を支援するシステム開発のため，大学発ベンチャーであるCIRCA Connect,Co.Ltd.の設立メンバーの一員。2009年、パリのIAGG会議で招待講演をするなど多くの国際会議で業績を発表。またInternationalSociety of Typographic Designers のメンバーであり、2011年にはその EducationCommittee に任命されている。

Prof.Tao Xioming has been Chair Professor of Textile Technology at Institute of Textiles and Clothing,The Hong King Polytechnic University since 2002. Prof. Tao is the past World President and the electedFellow of the Textile Institute, elected Fellow of American Society of Mechanical Engineering and Fellowof the Royal Society of Arts, Design and Commercial Applications, UK. Prof. Tao is internationally knownfor her leading research work on intelligent fibrous materials, nanotechnology, photonic fibres andfabrics, wearable electronic and photonic devices, yarn manufacturing and textile composites. Prof. Taohas conducted numerous research projects and published more than 700 scientific publications includingover 280 international journal papers and 6 research monographs.

Gary Gowans is a Senior Lecturer and Course Director in Graphic Design,. He is also a Founding Directorof ‘CIRCA Connect Ltd’, a University ‘start-up’ company that designs computer-based systems andprovides training consultation to support people living with dementia. For the past 10 years hisresearch has focused on the design of computer-based systems to support communication, and provideengaging pastimes, for people living with dementia. The publication of his work has led to conferencepresentations from London, Barcelona and Vienna to Kyoto and Melbourne. He was an invited speaker at theIAGG Conference Paris 2009. He is also a member of, and external examiner with, the InternationalSociety of Typographic Designers and was appointed to their Education Committee in 2011.
