Summer Review

“This is the best place I have ever been to. Not only did I give my life to Christ while I was there, but I made SO many new friendships that I know will last a lifetime.” -Youth Summer Camper

Summer 2013 was an outstanding summer at Riverside! Over 1700 campers onsite, 708 on Day Camp, plus their families and guests had the opportunity to hear about, see, and experience the Good News of Jesus. The above quote is from just one of many campers who was impacted for all of eternity by our Lord Jesus this year. Thank you to everyone who was a part the life-changing ministry this summer. We spent the summer sharing about how Jesus is the Remedy for all of our needs, including our greatest need: forgiveness from sin. Our theme verse for the whole summer was 1 John 4:10, “This is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sin.” Every Monday we discovered the reality of “Our Need” for Jesus. Tuesday was spent learning about the fact that Jesus is “Our Hope” who never disappoints. Wednesdays we explored “His Heart” of compassion that lead him to action in people’s lives. Thursday was spent seeking “His Vision” for each of us to use the gifts He gives us in the church and our world. The final theme on Friday was “Jesus is Our Remedy,” when we would allow ourselves to be reminded of the many people around us who need Jesus and take time to pray for them. We praise God for the fact that so many of us experienced Jesus as our Remedy this summer! We would love have you come to camp for the tremendous Riverside experience at a Fall Recharge, and don’t forget that Summer 2014 is right around the corner. We hope to play, laugh, and grow with you again soon!

Family CampFamily Camp 2013 was phenomenal!

Twenty-seven families enjoyed being together, learning, praising Jesus, laughing, playing and praying.

Every morning everyone gathered for chapel time and then broke into age groups. The seventy children spent the rest of the morning with our awesome counselors learning more about Jesus, singing, and playing together.

Enrique and Martha Ochoa spoke to the adults in the morning with great challenges reminding parents and grandparents that Jesus really is our only true “Remedy” – our 2013 summer theme.

The weather was perfect for appreciating the great outdoors. Activities such as swimming, horseback riding, canoeing, and outdoor games were truly enjoyed.
