Discover the beauty of Ha Long Bay, Vietnam

A sia is one of the world’s most sought-after destinations. Last year I travelled there twice and learned the importance of experiencing it the right way. When I

returned from my trips, I asked our Asia team to make sure all our Trafalgar guests see the real Asia. Together we’ve developed our itineraries and our exclusive Insider Experiences, so you can gain an in-depth understanding of the culture and customs as you travel with us.

Our Insider Experiences help you see the destination like a local, through interaction with local characters and first hand exploration of regional specialities. One of many is our Be My Guest dining experiences that take you inside a family home or business where you will interact with local hosts, like the landlady of an authentic Ryokan in Kyoto to enjoy traditional Japanese kaiseki lunch. Or it could be experiencing a regional speciality hands on – like making Chinese dumplings in Xi'an. It is these unforgettable travel experiences that stay with you long after you arrive home.

We know how important it is to see Asia in comfort and stay in the right location. That’s why our city hotels are always centrally located, close to major attractions. Our trips now include Authentic Accommodation which is unique to the region, from a Japanese Monastery Inn, to a traditional Vietnamese Junk boat.

We are your friend in every destination, guiding the way so you don’t have to lift a finger – and our professionally trained Asian Travel Directors add local secrets and reveal unexpected surprises. You’ll travel in small groups, adding to the real insider’s view, on our comfortable coaches driven by expert Coach Drivers, or via internal flights and river cruise ships which have been carefully chosen to maximise the enjoyment of your holiday.

As the world’s number one guided holiday operator I believe we win our accolades because we are passionate about what we do, care about our guests and always go the extra mile to bring you genuine travel experiences at exceptional value.

We are proud to extend our 66 years of knowledge to Asia, so come and join us on an exciting adventure you’ll never forget.

DAY 1 ARRIVE BEIJING (3 NIGHTS) Welcome to Beijing! Upon arrival, your Travel Director will escort you to your luxurious hotel and will be on hand to greet you and answer any questions you may have about the exciting days ahead. Hotel: Ritz-Carlton Beijing (Deluxe)

DAY 2 BEIJING SIGHTSEEING 5 B E Begin your exploration of Beijing with a Local Expert starting at Tiananmen Square, which is both the centre of contemporary civic life and the gateway to the Forbidden City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Today, it is surrounded by monuments to Chairman Mao and the Communist revolution that transformed China following World War II. Stroll through the square and enter the Forbidden City, the 250-acre precinct of the emperors. Begun in the 15th century, it grew to encompass palaces and gardens, quarters for the imperial family, and offices for bureaucrats. The complex houses innumerable treasures of the Qing and Ming dynasties. Later, embark on a unique tour by rickshaw through the Hutongs, the historic neighbourhoods of Old Beijing. Stop outside a traditional courtyard home where you join a local family for a Be My Guest lunch featuring traditional Chinese cuisine. This evening, enjoy a succulent Peking Duck Welcome Reception dinner with wine—a must during any visit to Beijing. (BB BG WR)

DAY 3 BEIJING SIGHTSEEING & THE GREAT WALL 5 Walk along a section of the legendary Great Wall with a Local Expert, a UNESCO-designated site that has been one of the man-made wonders of the world since it was originally built in the 6th century to keep out invaders from the north.
