The Baima Demonstration Plant is one of the world’s largest CFB boilers,an anthracite-fired 300 MW powerplant being built in the Sichuan provinceof the People’s Republic of China.ALSTOM CFB technology was chosenbased on a series of technical andeconomic evaluations. Under terms ofthe contract, ALSTOM is supplying the
CFB boiler, in cooperation withDongfang Boiler Group.
The Baima Project includes a Transfer ofTechnology agreement to China’s threemajor boiler manufacturers – DongfangBoiler Group, Harbin Boiler Works andShanghai Boiler Works – and to theseven members of the Chinese Electric
Power Design Institute. It is expected thatsubstantial experience in diverse coals,operation modes and site conditions inChina will be gained, and that thedeployment of large utility-classALSTOM CFBs will help meet China’srapid demand growth with clean, cost-effective power.
