Yuu Otosaka (乙坂 有宇 Otosaka Yuu?)

Yuu is a first-year student at Hoshinoumi Academy, who is the rude and narcissistic protagonist of Charlotte. Upon obtaining the ability to take over another person's body for five seconds, he becomes a fake honors studentwho usually behaves as if he were smart, but in reality, he is a chronic cheater. He had enrolled into Hinomori High School by cheating on the entrance exam. After being tricked and manipulated into using his ability by Nao, he is forcibly transferred to Hoshinoumi Academy and paid to join the student council.[1]

Nao Tomori (友利 奈緒 Tomori Nao?)

Voiced by: Ayane Sakura

Nao is a first-year student and also the student council president of Hoshinoumi Academy. Although she is the president, she has no female friends due to something she did in the past related to her ability. She is a hardworking, intelligent, and shrewd girl, but is also narcissistic, self-righteous, and short-tempered. She has the ability to make herself disappear, but this is limited to one person of her choosing at a time.[1] She is a fan of the post-rock band Zhiend.

Jōjirō Takajō (高城 丈士朗 Takajō Jōjirō?)

Voiced by: Takahiro Mizushima

Jōjirō is a first-year student and a member of the student council. He can move at very fast speeds to make it appear as if he is teleporting, but he is not able to totally control where he stops, resulting in him being hospitalized and always having a new wound somewhere on his body. To counteract this, he has to wear protective gear under his school uniform.[1] He is also a huge fan of Yusa Nishimori, and is obsessed with her to an extreme extent.

Yusa Nishimori (西森 柚咲 Nishimori Yusa?) / Yusa Kurobane (黒羽 柚咲 Kurobane Yusa?)

Voiced by: Maaya Uchida

Yusa is a first-year student and a member of the student council. She is a bright, innocent, and popular idol singer for the band How-Low-Hello, nicknamed "Yusarin". She has the ability to channel the dead as a medium. However, she is not aware of this and only thinks that she is sleepwalking. As such, she is often possessed by her deceased older sister.

Misa Kurobane (黒羽 美砂 Kurobane Misa?)

Voiced by: Maaya Uchida

Misa is Yusa's older sister, who died in an accident six months prior to the beginning of the story. Due to Yusa's medium ability, Misa is able to freely possess her at any time, represented by a change in her hair and eye color. While possessing Yusa, Misa is able to use her own ability, pyrokinesis, though her normal physical prowess is limited by Yusa's body. Compared to Misa, she is more tomboyish and ill-tempered, and she is not afraid to be violent against anyone looking to harm her sister.

Ayumi Otosaka (乙坂 歩未 Otosaka Ayumi?)

Voiced by: Momo Asakura

Ayumi is Yuu's energetic little sister in junior high school. Unlike Yuu, who is dishonest through his ability, she is pure and innocent and cares for her brother, providing moral support to him. She takes care of the Otosaka family's household chores. Ayumi has a tendency to add pizza sauce to every food she makes, unaware that Yuu's modern tastes cannot handle the sweetness. She is also a fan of the band How-Low-Hello and an avid admirer of Yusa. She eventually awakens a previously dormant ability to cause anything around her to suddenly collapse; when this happens, her hair glows.

Kazuki Tomori (友利 一希 Tomori Kazuki?, Voiced by: Kazuyuki Okitsu): Kazuki is Nao's older brother who once had the ability to make air vibrate, which he used when playing the guitar.

Kumagami (熊耳?, Voiced by: Eiji Takemoto): Kumagami is a mysterious student at Hoshinoumi Academy, who has the ability to locate anybody who possesses an ability, but he needs to soak himself in water while fully clothed to use his ability. He helps the student council in finding ability users.

Udō (有働?, Voiced by: Yūsei Oda): Udō is a student at Nanba High School (難波高校 Nanba Kōkō?) and the captain of their archery club. He has the ability of thoughtography, which he uses to take pictures of girls in their underwear.

Arifumi Fukuyama (福山 有史 Fukuyama Arifumi?, Voiced by: Ryōhei Kimura): Arifumi is a student and a pitcher for the baseball team in Kannai Academy (関内学園 Kannai Gakuen?). His ability is telekinesis, which he uses to his advantage in baseball games.

Saitō (斉藤?, Voiced by: Hikaru Midorikawa): Saitō has the ability of levitation.

Yumi Shirayanagi (白柳 弓 Shirayanagi Yumi?, Voiced by: Mai Nakahara): Yumi is a popular girl at Hinomori High School(陽野森高校 Hinomori Kōkō?), Yuu's previous school.

Mishima (三嶋?, Voiced by: Tomoe Tamiyasu): Mishma is Yumi's best friend and a student at Hinomori High School.

Sugimoto (杉本?, Voiced by: Hitomi Ōwada): Sugimoto is a student at Hinomori High School.

Yoshiyuki Ōmura (大村 佳之 Ōmura Yoshiyuki?, Voiced by: Junji Majima): Ōmura is the student council president of Hinomori High School.

Shō (ショウ?, Voiced by: Ryōta Ōsaka): Shō was a friend of Misa and Kōta when Misa was alive.

Kōta (コータ?, Voiced by: Yoshimasa Hosoya): Kōta was a friend of Misa and Shō back when Misa was alive.

Takato (隆人?, Voiced by: Kenshō Ono): Takato is a student and a member of the baseball team in Kannai Academy. He is a catcher and a good friend of Arifumi.

Nomura (野村?, Voiced by: Yuiko Tatsumi): Nomura is the class 1-C representative in Hoshinoumi Academy's middle school. She is a good friend of Ayumi and calls her Ayucchi.

Oikawa (及川?, Voiced by: Daiki Yamashita): Oikawa is a student in class 1-C, who is in love with Ayumi.

Konishi (小西?, Voiced by: Kotori Koiwai): Konishi is a student in class 1-C. She is in love with Oikawa, but since he is in love with Ayumi, she despises her and eventually becomes unstable.

Gondō (権藤?, Voiced by: Yasuaki Takumi): Gondō is a delinquent.

Hosoyamada (細山田?, Voiced by: Kenichirō Matsuda): Hosoyamada is a well-known gang member.

Sara Shane (Voiced by: Miyuki Sawashiro): Sara is the vocalist of the post-rock band Zhiend. She is blind and has a horrible past as a vocalist.
