The Death of Monsieur the Marquis - News

Noblemen and noblewomen, today is the anniversary that our beloved and adored

Monsieur the Marquis was murdered. He was found one year ago in his chateau, in the

countryside outside of Paris, by the postmaster Monsieur Gabelle. When he was found, there

was clear evidence of murder: a knife stained it the blood of the Monsieur. The coroner's reportsaid that he stabbed in the heart with the knife and around the hilt of the knife a frill of paper was

found that contained a note which said, “DRIVE HIM FAST TO HIS TOMB. THIS, FROM

JACQUES.” The coroner’s report also said that it was clear that the murderer was swift and

silent, for the Monsieur’s face looked like it had been, “suddenly startled, made angry, and

petrified”. But the real news is that, today, we have found the person who has murdered

Monsieur the Marquis. His fellow vermin call him Gaspard. He is the mole rat that put his filthy

child in front of Monsieur’s carriage! He was found, and taken over the hill in the countryside by

six honourable soldiers. He was bound up at his sides, his arms swollen and purple like the

blood of an animal, and he is so lame that the poor noble soldiers have to drive him with their

guns. Then he was taken to an iron cage on the crag of the hill. Our Monsieur will be rightfullyrevenged, and none of the other vermin will breath on our noble kind, unless they are honoring

the ground beneath our feet. Do not worry, these repulsive creatures will not try to rise against

us, for we will teach them a lesson.
