Summary: The debate around the provision of stem cells from human embryos dates back to the rst successful assisted reproduction attempts. Sound arguments for and against stem cells research have been accompanied by changes in legal framework in different countries. The aim of this paper is to discuss ethical aspects of human embryos treatment and risks of commercialization in stem cells research. The discussion is based on a case of aggressive marketing campaign of a stem cells bank. In accordance with the respect for autonomy the adequate information disclosure to the patients should have priority over all other interests in therapeutic relationships. Independent of our position on stem cells research, we have to remember that most of all we are medical professionals and as such we have dedicated ourselves to faithful practice of medical profession and promotion of its image.
