    Aspects of learners If these students were in college but

    dropped out to earn a living, and have nowreturned within a 5-6 year period, they arenot much different from their youngerpeers.

    They identify with some social group andwith their own family rather than with

    fellow-students. Their work experience, family ties, and

    parental roles motivate them strongly whenthey can see the relevance of a class.
