Before leaving our factory every machine passes an exacting inspection programme in which everything ischecked minutely.
Following the instructions will ensure that your machine gives long service, in normal operating conditions.
The user advice and spare parts mentioned in this document are given as an indication, and do not constitutean undertaking. No warrantee will be granted in the event of errors or omissions, or for damage occurringduring delivery, or caused by the design or use of the machine. We are very concerned about the quality of ourproducts and we reserve the right to make any technical modifications to improve them, without warning.
This document will:
• provide the user with: information about the machine
• information about its possible uses
• prevent accidents due to unsuitable use, by an untrained person, during maintenance, repairs,overhauls, handling or transport
• improve the reliability and durability of the machine
• ensure correct use, regular maintenance, and fast fault finding in order to reduce repair costs anddowntime.

1 Use
Switch off the disk prior to movingthe machine on jobsite.
Remove the disk prior to hoisting,loading, unloading and transportingthe machine on jobsite.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
The disc cutter is designed to provide safeand reliable service in operating conditionscorresponding with the instructions, but itcan present dangers for the user and risksof damage, consequently regular on siteinspection is necessary to ensure :
• Perfect technical condition (use for thepurpose for which it is intended andtaking into account any risks, andcorrection of any malfunctiondetrimental to safety).
• Use a diamond disk for cutting withwater (sawing new or old concrete,tarmac or asphalt). No other type ofdisk is allowed (abrasive, saw, etc . . .).
• Competent staff (qualifications, age,training) who have read andunderstood the manual in detail beforestarting work: any electrical,mechanical or other problem should beinvestigated by a qualif iedmaintenance engineer (electrician,maintenance manager, approveddealer, etc . . .).
• That the warnings and instructionsmarked on the machine are followed(adequate personal protection, correctuse, general safety instructions, etc).
• That no modification, transformation oraddition is detrimental to safety andthat it is carried out without priorauthorization from the manufacturer.
• Respect of the maintenance intervalsand periodical checks recommended.
• That only genuine spare parts are usedfor repairs.
FAILURE TO COMPLY WITHTHESE WARNINGS COULDRESULT IN DEATH OR SERIOUSBODILY INJURY.

4Handling - Transport(blade dismantled)
• For positioning the saw on site, it issufficient to push it. It moves easily on itsfour wheels, without switching on themotor.
• Parking brake : push the brake lever (14)[see fig. 1] to block the rear wheels(pushed version). Automatic version :release the locking lever (25) (see Fig. 1)to engage forward motion.
DO carefully read and understand all theinstructions before operating thesaw.
DO always keep all guards in place.
DO aways wear safety approvedhearing, eye, head and respiratoryprotection.
DO keep all parts of your body awayfrom the blade and all other movingparts.
DO know how to stop the saw quickly incase of an emergency.
DO shut off the engine and allow it tocool before refueling.
DO inspect the blade, flanges and shaftsfor damage before installing theblade.
DO use only blades marked with amaximum operating speed greaterthan the blade shaft speed.
DO use caution and follow theinstructions when loading andunloading the saw.
DO NOT allow other persons to be nearthe saw when starting, refuelingor when cutting.
DO NOT run petrol or diesel engines inan enclosed area unless thereis adequate ventilation.
DO NOT use damaged equipment orblades.
DO NOT operate the saw in areas ofcombustible material. Sparksfrom the saw could cause a fireor an explosion.
DO NOT allow blade exposure from theguard to be over 180 degrees.
DO NOT leave the saw unattended withthe motor running.
DO NOT operate the saw while under theinfluence of drugs or alcohol.
This symbol indicates that themachine is in conformance withthe applicable European directive.

• For transporting by vehicle or by any kindof hoist, 3 lashing or hoisting points areprovided :
■ Two at shaft height.
■ One on protection ring.
• During transport, rest the front of themachine on a block of wood.
• Turn off the tap (4) [SEE FIG. 1] .
• Refill the water tank from the mains (F)[SEE FIG. 1] (optional isolating valve).
• Mark the floor by drawing a line in theplace to be cut.
• Position the machine so that the folded-down front guide (6) and the blade arelined up with the mark.
• Start up the motor :
Petrol and Diesel : refer to theinstructions in the manufacturer's servicemanual.
Allow the motor to warm up.
• Turn on the water tap (4).
• The locking lever (8) should be down tomove the wheel (7).
• Increase the motor speed to full power.
• Adjust the travel of the disk by means of thehand-wheel (7) : a slow descent isadvisable to prevent the motor from stalling.
(1 turn of the handwheel = 1.25 cm).
• Raise the lever (8) when the requireddepth has been set.
• Advance the machine gently whilstensuring that the front guide and theblade always follow the mark.
- Automatic version
- Set the potentiometer (23) [Fig. 1] to aminimum.
- Control the release of the lever to engageforward motion.
- Push the controller (21) [Fig. 1] forward(on-position)
- Turn the potentiometer to obtain therequired advance speed
(speed adjustable from 0 to 2 m/min max.)
- A rational advance speed cannot be setas this depends on the cutting depth, thetype of cutting wheel and the material tobe cut.We recommend that you do notmake the motor labour uselessly(characterised by black exhaust fumes).Travel at a regular speed.
Automatic Advance
For short distances or loading assistance, itis possible to use the "rapid" automaticadvance without starting up the motor. Todo this:
- raise the machine as far as possible
- Control the release of the lever to engageforward motion.
- push the controller forward or backward(if reverse required) and hold it inposition. By releasing the pressure, themachine stops automatically.
7 Starting up
Always pay extreme care andattention to the preparation ofthe machine before starting up
Remove all adjustment tools andwrenches from floor andmachine
Always keep blade guard inplace
Abundant water cooling =guaranteed long blade life
• PETROL OR DIESEL MOTOR (refer tothe engine maintenance manual)
• MACHINE WITH ELECTRIC MOTOR(direction on the sides of the guard).Check the following :
• Motor power supply : reinforced electriccable with 4 (3P+E) or 5 (3P+N+E)conductors 2.5 mm2 for lengths less than100 m.
• Earthing of the machine (mandatory).• The motor’s direction of rotation must
match the arrow on the disc casing(if themotor does not rotate in the requisitedirection, invert the 2 feed wires).
■ Ensure the fuel is topped up.
Diesel : do not wait until the tank isempty before filling up. A lack of fuelrisks draining the pump.
■ Check the oil level : as the motorfrequently works on an incline, check,in the horizontal position, that its oillevel never falls below the second lineone the gauge.
■ To start up, refer to the engineinstructions.- Stop switch set to stop.- Battery: Battery isolation switch
turned on.
Take into account the workingconditions from health and safetypoint of wiew.
Use only blades marked with amaximum operating speedgreater than blade shaft speed
The working area must becompletely cleared, well lit andall safety hazards removed (nowater or dangerous objects inthe vicinity)
The operator must wearprotective clothing appropriateto the work he is doing. Werecommend that this includesboth eye and ear protection
Any persons not involved in thework should leave the workingarea
The use of ear protection ismandatory.
5 Check before starting
Please read the instructions foruse prior to operating themachine for the first time.
Motor off.
Take care about the direction ofrotation which is shown by anarrow on one of the faces(direction of rotation on the rightside of the casing)
Make sure the contact faces offlanges, of blade and the axle areclean
The disk clamping screw (D) hasa left-hand thread.
For your own safety and for theprotection of other people,replace all the protectivedevices.
6 Fitting the blade
• Lift the front mobile part of the discprotection housing (A) [see Fig. 2](loosen the housing nut (B)).
• Slacken the screw (D) and remove thesmooth plate (C).
• Fit the disk by slotting it into the fixedcasing.
• Lock the screw (D) firmly using the 18mm spanner while holding the pin shaft inposition using the 30mm spanner (E)
• Replace the guard (lock nut (B)).
Motor off
Disconnect the power plug
- ELECTRICAL SAFETY :Operate this machine only on asupply equipped with a 30 mAearthed current-limiting circuit-breaker. Otherwise, consult ourcatalogue for appropriatemodels.
- The RCCB must be usedcorrectly, including testing itregularly. For tools suppliedwith an integral RCCB in thecable or in the mains plug, ifthe cable or plug has beendamaged, repairs must becarried out by themanufacturer, one of hisagents or by a qualif iedrepair workshop to avoid anyrisks resulting from errors.

14 Repairs
We carry out all repairs in theshortest possible time and at themost economical prices (seeoverleaf for our address).

15 Spare parts
For quick supply of spare parts and toavoid any lost time it is essential to quotethe data on the manufacturer's plate fixedto the machine and the part number of thepart to be replaced with every order.
In the event of deterioration andscrapping of the machine, thefollowing items must be disposedof in accordance with therequirements of the legislation inforce.
16 Scrapping

■ Machine : Steel sheet (AC),■ Machine : Cast iron (FT)■ Machine : Aluminium (AL)

• After a certain amount of use, it may benecessary to reasonably tighten the belts.To do that:
■ Loosen the screw (M) of the seating[SEE FIG. 3].
■ Swivel the base.
■ Tighten the screw (M) (tighteningtorque 86xNm).
11 Motor belt tension
• Engine speed is preset at the factory forproper sawing speed. It should beperiodically verified.
• To change governor setting, refer toengine manual.
12 Governor settings
• Tighten all the nuts and bolts regularly.
• Check the tension of the belts. Tightenthem without overdoing it.
• When storing the machine, werecommend removing the blade andstoring it carefully.
• Check that there is sufficient water supplyduring operation, inspect the holes in thefork regularly.
• Tighten the blade firmly.
• Make sure the contact faces of flanges,blade and axle are clean.
13 Important recommendations
The manufacturer declines allresponsibility for loss or damageresulting from misuse or anymodification, alteration orpowering that does not conformto the manufacturer's originalspecifications.
If the battery does not need anyservicing, the battery clips mustbe maintened in good condition.In the event of prolongedimmobilization, disconnect theclips and recharge the battery tokeep it in functioning condition.
At the work station, the soundpressure level may exceed 85 db(A)In this case individual protectionmeasures must be taken.
When working in a limited orclosed area, make sure that theventi lation is adequate. Theexhaust gases contain carbonmonoxide (exposure to this toxicgas can cause loss ofconsciousness and can be fatal).
After each use CLEAN the machine.
• The spindle bearings must be greasedafter 8 hours of use, with a grease gun bypumping three to five times the greaseinto the greaser of the bearings. Only usea Super l i thium 12 based grease incompliance with the NLG1 GRADE 2consistency.
• Every 40 hours grease :
■ Depth control adjustment screw.
• Cleaning and greasing the chain(automatic version).
• Check ENGINE OIL daily. Read engineowners manual for OIL and OIL FILTERchange intervals. Use :
■ SAE 10W30 motor oil with API classMS, SD, SE or better for PETROLengines.
■ API class CD or CE for Hatz diesel.
• To empty the motor, place a funnel at thedrain outlet (V) [SEE FIG. 3] .
AIR FILTER
• Read engine owners manual formaintenance intervals. For extremelydusty conditions you may have to cleanthe air filter element 2 to 3 times a day.
• Replace any damaged filters or gaskets.
Dispose of the old oil as laiddown by the regulations in force.
Store in a safe place out ot reachof children.
Remove all adjustment tools andwrenches
Store diamond tool in a safeplace so it cannot be bent ordamaged.
"Engine Maintenance" : refer tothe engine maintenance booklet.
Never go over maximum bladecapacity and cutting depths.
OIL
LUBRICATION
8 To stop
• Disengage the blade from the groove.• Reduce the motor speed before stopping.• Turn off the water.
Motor off.
Emergency stop(engine) :
Operate the switch on themachine's control panel.
Emergency stop (electricmotor):
Press the red knob (circuitbreaker)
Entrust repairs to authoriseddealer only
• Several causes may be responsible forstopping the blade in the saw groove orthe machine :
■ Tension the belt.
■ Lack of fuel (petrol or diesel) or lack ofpower (electric).
■ Too rapid an advance or descent, etc.
■ Starting contactor fuse (25A) blown(HONDA 18 BHP).
Automatic advance- Protection fuses burnt out.- Power supply (30A)- Converter (5A)• In all cases, disengage the blade from
the groove and make a complete check ofthe machine.
9 Incidents during sawing
Emergency stop (diesel engine) :
Speed control set to minimumspeed
Emergency stop(automatic advance):
Press the emergency stop button(the machine will automaticallymove backwards slightly).Returning the controller to 0position then to the on-positionwill start up the advance again.
