As soon as he came to Shang⁃hai Jiaoguo Information TechnologyCo., Ltd., Gong Yue found himselfin a smokeless battlefield. Thethree founders of this startingcompany called the office area thebattlefield, the meeting room theheadquarters, living room the clinicand toilet the trench. This is astarting company with capital justin place, no staff and products re⁃maining at the concept stage. Theoffice has been newly decoratedwhile hardware and software arenot sufficient yet.

“Dengdeng”, has recently graduatedfrom the Summer Vacation Innova⁃tion Entrepreneurship TrainingCamp of Tongji Enterprising Valley.When asked what was the mostimpressive to him in the one monthtraining, he said it was the earlydays when he was sticking aroundthe three founders of the startingcompany Jiaoguo day and night.

Organized by Yangpu DistrictScience & Technology EnterprisingCenter High-skill Talent CultivationBase, the training camp adopted

“theory plus practice” approachand selected 42 students with en⁃terprising intentions for three-di⁃mensional training.

During the seven-day theorytraining, tutors from Shanghai Mu⁃nicipal Voluntary Team of Enterpris⁃ing Experts taught them trainees onbusiness environment analysis, ca⁃reer plan, project pk, team construc⁃tion, business plan, etc. The trainingalso adopted“world cafe”,“brain⁃storm”and“seminar”models andbusiness model canvas to help eachteams improve their business plans.

Practice is indispensable tobusiness. The theory learning wasfollowed by three-week internship.Different from internship in bigcompanies, the 18 companies cho⁃sen for the training camp are all atthe starting phase, covering Inter⁃net, enterprising services, e-com⁃merce, architectural design, etc.The trainees and the starting com⁃panies can choose one another.

Jiaoguo was founded twomonths ago. The company has onlythree employees, i.e., the threefounders.“We had to do everythingby ourselves, registering, organizingthe office, looking for partners, ne⁃gotiating, marketing, etc. The reasonis that the founders are also the em⁃ployees,”Gong said. Seeing the threefounders busy themselves every day,Gong had a much clearer conceptabout starting business for the firsttime.“Execution is very important.We can take our time when doing aproject at school. However, in thefiercely competitive market, every⁃

thing is the sooner the better. That isthe only way to survive,”said Gongsummarizing his work experience atJiaoguo.

From the internship in suchstarting companies, many traineesgained much mature thinking abouttheir random ideas of doing business.

On the closing ceremony of thetraining camp, the 42 traineesbrought 8 projects for starting busi⁃ness, including the intelligent bikelock“Dengdeng”which integratesInternet technology,“Ji Yu”which isa campus service platform,“YanYan”which is an online educationplatform devoted to students pre⁃paring for examinations for masters’degree, and O2O platform that con⁃nects designers and enterprises, etc.

Gong Yue’s original idea wasbuilding a platform for bike enthu⁃siasts. He chose Jiaoguo whichwould supplement to his own idea.After in-depth communication withthe three founders, Gong got muchclear thinking about how to do thebusiness and a better idea aboutthe profiting model. Now he plansto forge an ecological circle for in⁃telligent bike leasing by selling in⁃telligent bike lock“Dengdeng”.

With more than one year’sconstruction, Tongji University En⁃terprising Valley has incubated 144projects, 29 of which has startedmarket operation and attractedmore than RMB23 million.

Yangpu District Mental HealthCenter has recently completed therelocation of the 553 patients fromthe old facility on Zhoujiazui Lu to585 Jungong Lu.

The new facility on JungongLu covers about 13 mu (15 mumakes one hectare), providing 26,608 square meters and 10 sections.The new facility offers 500 sick⁃beds even if it has been verified tooffer 300 sickbeds. Besides theformer clinic departments includingOrdinary Mental, Free Medicine,Addiction Verification, PsychiatricTest and Prevention, Treatment,Pharmacy, Rehabilitation and Spe⁃cial Department, the facility hasadded four centers including Chil⁃dren Center, Psychological Con⁃sultation Center, PsychologicalMeasurement Center and Rehabili⁃tation Center and five outpatientdepartments including Aged Men⁃tal, Sleeping Disorder, Mood Dis⁃order, Psychological TreatmentReservation, Youngsters MentalMedicine. The facility also offersnew test and treatment projectssuch as 24-hour sleeping test, bio⁃logical feedback treatment, hypno⁃therapy, psychoanalytic therapy,Naikan therapy, cognitive treat⁃ment, etc.

Yangpu District Mental HealthCenter was originally founded in1964 and has been evolved fromtemporary management station,prevention & treatment institutionto mental health center. With over

five decades of development, thehospital has developed into a pro⁃fessional health institution ofGrade A Class II that integratesmental department, clinic psychi⁃atric, community prevention &treatment, mental rehabilitation,drug dependence, addiction verifi⁃cation, scientific research andtraining.

The district has formed amedical service network for treat⁃ing mental diseases and more than80% of the doctors have obtainedqualifications as psychiatrists andcan offer psychological consulting,intervention and therapy servicesfor hospitalized patients and out⁃patients. The hospital has also es⁃tablished close cooperation withFudan University and University ofShanghai for Science and Technol⁃ogy and launched the cooperativeproject offering students mentalhealth education services.

According to TuYimin, presi⁃dent of the hospital, the new facil⁃ity has improved the medical envi⁃ronment along with the upgradedinfrastructure, treatment and reha⁃bilitation equipment. The hospitalwill keep on promoting academicconstruction, improve medical ser⁃vice system and treatment skills,gradually generate the workingmodel of“Integrated social reha⁃bilitation between hospital andcommunity” and transform frombasically meeting medical serviceneeds of mental patients to gradu⁃ally meeting service needs of peo⁃ple with mental problems.

On September 10, Yangpu Dis⁃trict Traffic Police Detachment hadan emergency drill in GongqingForest Park on Jungong Lu to ensuresafety of visitors in the park and

handle heavy traffic incidents duringthe holidays.

According to the park, there arealways huge passenger flows to thepark during holidays based on thepark’s experience in the past years.The peak season means about 20,000visitors and more than 3,000 vehiclesdaily to the park, which very likelycause traffic would jam on the trunkroads around the park. The parkingground was under huge pressure.
