INDIAN INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT CALCUTTA
Admission Policy for the PGP-PGDM Batch (2015-17)Criteria for short listing and final selection of PGP-PGDM candidates for 2015-2017 Batch
A). Short-l isting for Personal Interview (PI)
Candidates will be short listed on the basis of CAT 2014 score, past academic performance, and other
criteria provided below.
Stage I: Candidates eligible to be considered for PI
Stage I short-listing comprises candidates achieving the minimum section-wise and overall percentile
in CAT 2014 as per Table 1 below:
Table 1: Minimum Cut-off Percentile for short-listi ng the candidates for Personal Interview (PI) stage
Category Section I Section II Overall
OPEN 85 85 90
NC-OBC 75 75 80
SC 65 65 75
ST 60 60 70
DA 60 60 70
Candidates securing the above mentioned minimum percentile in each category in CAT 2014 will only
be considered for calculation of their composite score in Stage II (described below). Please note that
the actual section-wise and overall percentile for short-listing candidates for PI may be much higher
than the above mentioned minimum cut-offs as the short-listing for PI is done on the basis of
composite score.
Stage II: Calculation of Composite Scores for Short-list ing for PI stage
The Composite Score is calculated on the basis of CAT score, Class X and Class XII aggregate
percentages, and gender diversity factor.
Method of allotting points for Class X and Class XII percentage based on aggregate marks is given in
Table 2 below:

Table 2: Points for Class X and Class XII marks*
Class X Marks (in %) Points Class XII Marks (in %) Point s

71 and < 76 3 71 and < 76 3
66 and < 71 2 66 and < 71 2
60 and < 66 1 60 and < 66 1
< 60 0 < 60 0
*(For computing the percentage of marks obtained in Class X and Class XII, the aggregate marks of all subjects that
appear in the mark sheet or grade sheet would be considered irrespective of whether the Board considers them for
calculation of percentage).
A candidates composite score is calculated based on Table 3. A cut-off of composite score is used for short-listing
the number of candidates for PI stage in each category. The number of candidates short-listed for PI stage would be
the discretion of the institute and would depend on the batch size of 2015-17.
