    Sprinkler irrigation can be used on lands which aredifficult or impossible to irrigate by surface methods.

    Sprinkler irrigation is suitable for light and frequentwatering whenever needed, such as for germinationand frost protection.

    Sprinkler irrigation may potentially provide betteruniformity of application and high applicationefficiency.

    More effective use of a small, continuous stream ofwater such as from springs or dug wells.

    It saves more than 50% of the water used by floodirrigation.

    Reduces pest and insects attack: Pests and insects get washedaway during Rain Gun irrigation.

    In flood irrigation, farmers usually open the delivery at onecorner of the field and it goes to the next corner and entirefield by gravity. If there is any undulation in the topography ofthe land, water may not reach to that part, where as in Rain

    Given Above Detail of the Examples

    In example "A" the sprinklers are just barely overlapping andmuch more water is falling in the cups next to the sprinkler heads.But the middle 3 cups are only getting the water of the cupsnext to the sprinkler.

    In example "B" we see that moving the sprinklers closer togetherhas evened up the amount of water a bit more. However the areasnear the heads are still getting 25% more water than the otherareas.

    Example "C" shows almost head-to-head spacing. The cups arealmost all uniformly full! So don't stretch the distance betweensprinklers.
