Ms.Masuda-Clevelanddrawsuponher25yearsofteachingandeducationprojectmanagementtocustomizeandexecuteviable,sustainablesolutionsforindividualschoolsanddistricts.ShehasassembledanunparalleledteamofeducationalgamechangersfromacrosstheUStoprovidementorship,professionaldevelopmentandpedagogicalguidancetoCreativeCoreclients.Ms.Masuda-ClevelandholdsaMaster’sofArtsinEnglishandapost-baccalaureateinsecondaryELAteachingfromUniversityofCalifornia,Irvine.DuringheryearsinCalifornia,shewasawardedtheGoldenBellforExcellenceinEducation,andthe1998BuckInstituteforEducationFellowshiptodesignandimplementproject-based,“college-and-career-ready”curriculumforsecondarystudents.SheservedontheBayAreaSchoolReformCollaborative,assistedhigh-techcompanieslikeAutodeskandBroderbundindevelopingeffective“21stCenturySkills”workshopsforteachers.DuringherseventeenyearsasaneducatorinHawaiischools,shedesignedandpilotedthefirstproject-based,interdisciplinarycurriculumatSeaburyHall,a“BlueRibbon,”college-preparatoryschoolonMaui.From2007-2015,shespearheaded,revisedandcoordinatedliteracy-basedprogramsforteachersandstudentsatUHMauiCollege.From2011-2015,Ms.Masuda-ClevelandservedastheMauiDirectorandStateDirectoroftheHawaiiWritingProject.AsHWPDirector,shedevelopedandimplementedtwostrategic,scalableprofessionaldevelopmentmodelstoimproveCCSS-basedliteracyinstruction,andbetterservetheneedsofstudentsthroughoutthestate.In2014,Ms.Masuda-ClevelandwasrecognizedasoneoftheUniversityofHawaiiCommunityCollegesystem’s“50FinestinFiftyYears”forhercontributionstoliteracyeducation.ShecurrentlyservesontheNationalFacultyoftheBuckInstituteforEducation,coordinatesprofessionaldevelopmentfortheHawai’i
