T.be September 20, 1956 issue of the "Diario Las-Americas", published in .Miami, carried an artfei~ entitled "Armed Invasion of Cuba is Imminent, Declares Senator ROLANDO MASFERRER". This was a United Press, Havana, September 19, 1956, date line, which reflected the above Cuban Senator as stating that Cuba is in "imminent danger of armed invasion on a large scale by revolutionary forces". MASFERRER, Who is President of the Armed Forces Committee of the Cuban Senate, stated that for the first fifteen days of October troop landings and insurrection movements in the whole island of Cuba are planned. He claimed that the supporters of the insurrection are ex-President CARLOS PRIO SOCARRAS, Generalissimo TRUJILLOl of the Dominican Republic, and FIDEL CASTRO, who is head of the duly 26 ~vement, this being an anti-BATISTA organization. It is to be noted that CARLOS -PRIO r~sides in the Miami area, and FIDEL CASTRO is reportedly ·in Mexico.
MASFERRER reported, in the above article, that more than 1,000 men are receiving military training now in Mexico, and that more than 400 men have entered Cuba clandestinely during the last few weeks in order to take charge of the rebel groups. He claimed that the invasion contemplated simultaneous uprisings in the pro•~~f Pinar del Rio and Oriente, as well as in the City of Havana.

He says he is in a.position and is ready to cooperate with e,nyone.
Is he cooperating or working with the followers of Dr. Prio? We are not in the same position in our work. I aa not directing my party today although they use IIY name as a banner, and the members of' my party would not respond to the calling of Fidel Castro in any sentiment that they were willing to cooperate. not to work together.
There have been many cla~s advanced in Cuba, in .the papers, periodicals, that a force has b'en gathered in the ~oainican Republic tor an invasion of Cuba. Do you personally know anything specific'concerning this alleged military force? No, I do not. There is a systematic campaign in Cuba to discredit whatever revolutionary movement there is. Then as they know that the Cubans are against Trujillo. the goverr~ent of Batista through the newspapers which he pays. makes campaigns to accuse those who are against Batista as being the followers of Trujillo, but that is an organized campaign, artd I know that Batista tor years has been engaged in a campaign to discredit those who are against him and are the followers of Trujillo. In the beginning Batista said that all the people who were against him were Communists; now he says they are followers of Trujillo, but I do not know whether there is any truth that there was an expedition engaged against Batista - it is only what I hear.
