Rapid Urbanization – By 2025, population will grow by 1 billion to 7.8 billion– Cities are growing at a breathtaking rate: 60 million people per year or adding a Beijing

every other month– By 2050, Asia will host 63% of the global urban population, or 3.3 billion people– Growth of mega-cities will increase demand for resources (water, energy, food, land,

talent)

Demand for more Sophisticated Services– Rapid rise of the middle class in Asia, esp China, India; by 2030, the global middle
