Polenta

Ingredients:

Water

Corn

Salt

First, put water to boil in a pot. When water begins to boil, add in rain cornmeal, stirring constantly.

KORMOS

Ingredients

One packet (250 grams) of butter

Two 1/2 packets of plain biscuits such as petit beurre

Three bars of dark chocolate

Two spoons of icing sugar

Two-three spoons of cocoa

One packet (200 grams) of roasted almonds

Directions

We melt butter with half of the chocolate bars.

We add icing sugar and cocoa.

We break the biscuits into small pieces.

We add all the other ingredients (not the chocolate bars) and we mix well.

We give the shape of a cylinder form.

We put on roasted almonds.

We melt the rest of chocolate and we spread on the dessert.

We put it in the fridge for an hour and our dessert is ready.

CABBAGE ROLLS

Ingredients:

1 kg minced pork (or pork and beef , equal amounts )

110 grams rice

3 Bay leaf

2 dried onions (medium size )

two tablespoons of lard

broth / tomato paste 100 grams

sauerkraut

pepper

salt ( a tablespoon )

Choose fat pork meat ( thigh , ribs , neck ) and pass through a meat grinder once .

Another option is to chop both pork and beef, in equal amounts . Minced meat mixed

with rice cleaning and washing in several waters , very small diced onion , pepper ,

salt, bay leaves and chopped 100 ml water . It's very important addition of water

filling.

KOPYTKA

Ingredients:

Cooked and mashed potatoes

2 eggs

Potato flour

Butter and sugar

Divide potatoes for four halves, take one part and put potato flour there and eggs.

Then mix all potatoes with flour and eggs.

Then make ”a dough roller” and cut into pieces

Put ”kopytka” into boiling water and wait until they start to boil.

Cook about 3 minutes. ”Kopytka” are best served with butter and sugar.

FAWORKI

Ingredients:

1,5 glasses of flour (ca. 250g)

40g margarine

4 yolks of eggs

4 spoons of sour cream

A little spoon of baking powder

Castor sugar

Step by step

• Prepare in your bowl: baking powder, warm margarine, sour cream and yolks. Mix

them.

• Wrap ready dough in aluminum foil and put it on the fridge for half an hour.

• Next roll up the dough and cut rectangles (3x8cm) with a little hole in the middle

• Each rectangle interweave through the hole in the middle

• Put faworki on very hot oil and frying as long as they will be gold

• You can powder them by castor sugar

LAZARAKIA

Ingredients:

500 gr flour

1 table spoon yeast

¾ of a tea cup warm water

¾ of a tea cup sugar

¾ of a tea cup raisins

1/3 of a tea cup olive oil

½ of a table spoon cinnamon

A little powder clove

Some cloves for eyes

We knead all the ingredients and leave to rise for 2 hours. Then we

make little kinds and we bake them.

HORIATIKI - GREEK SALAD

Ingredients:

• 3 large tomatoes, chopped

• 2 cucumbers, peeled and chopped

• 2 green peppers

• 1 red onion, chopped

• 1/4 cup olive oil

• 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano

• salt to taste

• feta greek cheese

• black Greek olives

In shallow salad bowl, or on serving platter, combine tomatoes, cucumber, peppers and

onion. Sprinkle with oil, oregano, and salt to taste. Sprinkle feta cheese and olives over

salad. Serve.

DELICIOUS ALPHABET

What you need :

• 1,5 glass of wheeten flour

• 0,5 glass of warm water

• 2 tablespoons of oil (colza or sunflower)

• 3-4g of instant yeast

• Half of a teaspoon of salt

• Half of a teaspoon od sugar

What you should do:

Put flour, yeast to big bowl and mix them.

Next put oil, sugar, salt and mix all ingredients.

Then put water and mix carefully. You should have got smooth dough.

Cover the dough and put it in warm place in half an hour.

Next shape long rollers and make letters.

ONION SYRUP

Autumn is the time when children often catch cold.

We made traditional and proven onion syrup

You need:

- onion

- 5 tsp sugar

- jar

● You peer the onion and cut it into slices

● Then you put onion into the jar and add sugar

● You put jar in the hot place, for example near the radiator.

● After few hours you can see that it is a syrup in the jar.

● If you catch a cold, you can drink onion syrup with lemon or

honey.

Eliopsomo

olive bread

INGREDIENTS:

500gr flour

350 gr calm water

50 gr milk

20 gr yeast

1 tea spoon salt

2 tea spoons sugar

little bit oregano

olives cut in small pieces

We solve yeast in the water.

We add the milk, the sugar, the salt, the flour and we make a dough.

We leave apart until become double.

We cut dough in small pieces, making small pies.

We add the olives in each of them, adding oregano on top.

We leave apart until become double and then we bake in preheated oven at 200o C

for almost

30΄-35΄.

CARROTS CAKE

INGREDIENTS 200 grams margarine 300 grams carrots 4 eggs 120 grams sugar 320 grams wheat flour 2 tsp baking powder 2 tsp baking soda

INGREDIENTS

Melt margarine. Mix eggs and sugar. Half of wheat flour mix

with baking powder and baking soda and all mix with eggs.

Then add grated carrots and mix. Next add the rest of flour and

mix. Add cooled margarine and mix very slowly. Then smooth

margarine into baking sheet and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.

Finally put cake to baking sheet. Bake for 45 minutes at 180

degrees.

GREEK BOUGATSA

Ingredients:

600gr puff pastry

1 liter of milk

350gr fine milled semolina

300gr sugar

4 eggs

100gr of margarine

Caster sugar, cinnamon

Grated zest of one lemon

Steps for making the creamy custard filling of the Greek bougatsa

1. The children are divided into groups and bring the ingredients.

2. We boil the milk. (1 liter)

3. We put the margarine in a pot.

4. We sauté the semolina (350gr).

5. We add the sugar (300gr).

6. We beat the eggs and add them to the mixture (4 eggs)

7. We add 1 teaspoon of vanilla and the lemon zest.

8. We pour the milk into the pot and continue stirring until mixture thickens and comes to

a boil.

9. The creamy custard filling is ready.

10. We leave it until it is cold.

To assemble:

1. We put one layer of puff pastry in a baking pan.

2. We distribute the creamy custard filling over the layer of puff pastry.

3. We cover with the second layer of puff pastry.

4. We cut portion lines with an knife.

We bake in the oven until the puff pastry is golden brown (about 40 minutes).

We remove the pie from the oven. When it is cold, we sprinkle with caster sugar and

cinnamon

Kourabiethes

Ingredients:

250 gr. milk butter

75gr. caster sugar

50gr. almonds powder

2 vanilla

1 tbl spoon baking powder

300gr. Flour

150gr.baked almonds, roughly-cut

Performance:

Beat butter and caster sugar until soft.

Add almonds powder, vanilla, baking powder, baked almonds and flour.

Knead all the ingrediends together until you have a soft dough. Make small balls 1-2 cm and put them in the baking pan.

Bake in a preheated oven, at 180o C, for 18΄-20΄

Let the balls be cold and then sprinkle them with enough caster sugar, until they

are covered.

Sweet bread

Ingredients: • For the dough , you need:

1 kg flour 50 g fresh yeast 500 ml of milk Butter 100 g 250 g sugar 5 egg yolks teaspoon salt lemon and orange peel 2 sachets vanilla sugar

• For the filling , you will need: 250 g ground walnuts 5 egg whites Sugar 100 g 2 tablespoons of cocoa 1 pinch of salt rum For oiled cakes longer need 1 egg 1 teaspoon sugar

Heating milk in a pot over the lemon and orange zest add the 2 sachets of vanilla sugar and mix well

. Separate yolks rubbed them with the 250 g sugar until it melts .

Preparing yeast bubble . Mix the yeast with a teaspoon of sugar until smooth , add 3 tablespoons

SKALTSOUNIA

Igredients : 2 cups of corn oil 1 cup of white wine 1 baking powder flour 500gr marsh-mallow or marmalade

Instruction

Mix : corn oil, white wine, baking powder, flour

and make soft dough

Then roll the dough in to

ten-cm diameter pan cakes

Next add half marsh-mallow

or 1 tea spoon marmalade, in the middle and cover it

into half-moon shape

Bake in pre heated oven.

Use baking sheet.

When you take the baking pan out of the oven, sprinkle them with sugar powder.

LAGANA

Ingredients :

300 ml water

flour

10 gr yeast

1 table spoon of salt

3 table spoon of sugar

2 table spoon of olive oil

sesame

We solve the yeast in calm water.

We add sugar , salt , olive oil and flour as required until we prepare a

normal dough.

When it is ready, we make thin breads , we spread water on the

surface and we cover them with sesame
