    THE FEATURES listed here are standard on single lineelephones. CALLING FEATURES an be activated by

    dialing the appropriate feature CODE. When on a call, youmust LINKbefore dialing the feature code. The LINKINGprocess holds one call aside and gives you dial tone, thusenabling you to activate a feature. The features are listedin a commonly used order, not alphabetically.

    To activate: LINK, dial campus number,ang up.

    To deactivate: Hear busy signal, LINKtwice to return to original call. (Note: pausebetween the two LINKS.)

    After dialing the campus number, you will hearringing and may stay on the line to announcethe call and hang up. If it is not necessary toannounce the transferred call, hang up once youhear the ringing. If you encounter a busy signal,LINK twice to return to the original call.

    To deactivate:Hang up.

    When the second party answers, you will LINKto connect all three parties. To remove yourself

    from the conversation, hang up; the other twoparties may remain connected as long as one ison a campus telephone.

    Ca ParParks a call on your own number so you canretrieve it from another campus telephone.This feature is typically used when you needto look up information away from your office(in lab or storeroom, for instance) in order tocomplete a call.

    If the parked call has not been retrievedafter two minutes, it will ring at the telephonethat parked the call. Even though a call isparked, you can initiate and receive othercalls. Calls cannot be parked on a groupintercom number.

    a Forwar Un versaForwards your calls to an on or off-campusumber programmed by you. When activated,Callorward Universal overrides the programming

    for Call Forward No Answerand Call Forwardusy so your calls will ring at the Call Forwardniversaltelephone number.

    a Forwar Don t AnswerAfter three rings, forwards your unanswered

    calls to a campus telephone number designatedy you. Calls will remain forwarded to the samee ep one num er unt you eact vate t efeature. After you deactivate the feature, you

    ay reprogram the feature to have unansweredcalls forwarded to another number. You mustdeactivate the feature before programming adifferent telephone number.

    To activate:Lift handset, press *51, dialelephone number where calls will be

    forwarded.To deactivate:Lift handset, press *61.

    Your department may specify the telephoneumber to which your un- answered calls

    should be forwarded (to your voice mailbox,for instance). Please consult with your AreaTelecommunications Representative (ATR)efore programming this feature.

    Ca Forwar BusyWhen your line is busy, this feature will

    automatically forward your calls to a campustelephone number designated by you.Calls will remain forwarded to the sametelephone number until you de- activate thefeature. After you deactivate the feature,you may reprogram the feature to have callsforwarded to another telephone number.You must deactivate the feature beforeprogramming a different telephone number.

    number so it can be retrieved from any campustelephone. This feature is typically useful inareas w ere a pag ng system ex sts ecauseit enables you to direct calls to a specific

    telephone number.

    To park:LINK, *76, dial telephone numberwhere call is to be parked.To retrieve:Press *85, dial telephone

    number where call is parked.

    If the parked call has not been retrieved aftertwo m nutes, t w r ng at t e te ep one num erthat parked the call. Calls cannot be parkedon a group intercom number.

    o P usAllows you to flip-flop between two calls by

    olding one call within the system while you useour telephone to activate a feature, respondo Call Waitingtone, or make another call.

    After putting a call on Hold Plus, you willear a confirmation tone and then may dialanother call or activate another feature codesuch as Call Pickup (*93). Do not hang up theandset.

    Notifies you when a busy campus telephone

    number becomes free.

    To activate: LINK, press *90.

    When the other line becomes free, you will hearthe Ring Againring (one long ring followed bytwo short rings). Lift the handset immediatelyafter the ring and the call will be automaticallyredialed. If you choose to ignore the ring, therequest will be cancelled after three cycles.

    You will hear a reminder ring every 60 secondso remind you that the call is on hold. Theeminder ring is not heard by the party on hold

    another call is waiting. The tone will be repeatedonce. You may interrupt your conversation andrespond to the waiting call by placing your firstcall on Hold Plus.

    To respond: LINK, press *91To return to original call: LINK, press *91.

    You may alternate between calls by LINKING andpressing *91. When either party hangs up, LINK,press *91 to return to the remaining call.

    Call PickupEnables you to answer another persons ringingtelephone from your own telephone. You areassigned a Call Pickup Group defined by yourdepartment and may use the feature to answercalls within that group. Your ATR will be able to

    identify your Call Pickup Group

    To activate:Lift handset, press *93.

    If the call has already been answered you willhear a fast busy signal.

    Ca Forwar Var a eThis feature is used in conjunction with Call

    Forward Dont Answer and allows youto select how many times you would likeyour telephone to ring before it forwards toa designated number. With Call ForwardVariable, you can choose to have callsforwarded after 2, 4, 5, or 6 rings.

    The number of rings must be programmedby Communications Resources. If youdo not have Call Forward Variable yourunanswered calls will be forwarded aftert ree r ngs.

    PTI NAL FEATURE

    Ca er IDCaller ID displays incoming callers numberinformation on a phone display or adjunctdisplay device at the recipients location. Thecallers name will not be displayed.

    Group IntercomThis feature is designed for individualsin a designated group to speed call eachother. Each member of the intercomgroup s ass gne a two or t ree- g tnumber. When this number is dialed, adistinctive ring is heard. Intercom callswill not forward. Your ATR will be ableto identify your Group Intercom groupand provide you with Group Intercomnumbers.

    To activate:Lift handset, press #, dialGroup Intercomnumber.

    ix- ay ConferenceEstablishes a conference with up to five otherarticipants

    b. If you hear a busy signal, or no one

    answers, LINK and press *74 to return tooriginal call.

    The conference now includes you andwo other parties. Repeat steps 3-7 to addadditional parties.

    If you encounter a busy signal or no answer, pressLINK, then press *74 to return to the conference.Participants will hear a tone when a personenters or leaves the conference. If you drop outof the conference, it can continue as long as oneof the participants is on a campus telephone.

    Speed Call-Long ListStores thirty frequently called numbersfor quick dialing. Each phone number isassigned a two-digit code.
