Reduction of adverbial clauses tomodifying phrases

Mempersingkat adverbial clause menjadi modifying phrases.

1. Menghilangkan subjek dan kata kerja bentuk be dari dependentclause

2. Jika tidak ada kata kerja be, maka

Learning point:

1. Modifying phrases dapat dikerjakan jika independent dan dependent

clause memiliki subjek yang sama.

2. Kata while pada modifying phrases dapat dihilangkan saat menyatakan

kejadian yang terjadi pada waktu yang bersamaan. Ex: Walking to the

office, I saw a car accident.

Adverbial Clauses of ResultConjunction Example

Adverbial clause of result. Sinta did not study well so that she failed the final exam.

Adverbial clause of cause Sinta failed the exam becauseshe did not study well.

Transitions :

Therefore, consequently,

accordingly, as a result.

Sinta didnt study well; consequently, she failed the exam.
