Race 1 american hotel plate 2100 metres:
Ponbar Finale Began awkwardly.
Riverina Bella Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide in the early stages before
striding forward and obtaining the lead near the 1300m.
Troienne Raced wide from the 700m.
Race 2 addprint.com.au plate - 1200 metres:
Tee Jays Reward Slow to begin. Eased down by its rider near the 200m. A post-race
veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Belinda Dunn was notified that a
warning would be recorded for the fillys poor performance today.
Cheers Thanksalot Hampered at the start by Cloverleigh Lass which shifted out on jumping
away, as a result lost ground.
The Nickster Began awkwardly.
Set To Rule Over-raced in the early stages.
Miss Scandilous Began awkwardly. After passing the 200m commenced to make ground
rapidly and near the 100m was obliged to shift to the outside of Cloverleigh Lass to obtain
clear running.
Cloverleigh Lass Taken out off its course rounding the home turn by The Nickster which
shifted out to obtain a clear run.
Marikoriko Layed in in the straight before being eased down by its rider near the 100m. A
post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Belinda Dunn was
notified that a warning would be recorded for the fillys poor performance today.
Executive Orders (NZ) Rider Jake Noonan reported that in his opinion the filly would be
suited with the addition of blinkers and in races of greater distance than todays event.
Sasayuri Raced in restricted room to the inside of The Nickster over the concluding stages.
Approaching the finish had to be momentarily steadied off the heels of The Nickster.
Race 3 border inn hotel plate - 1200 metres:
Numerology To be ridden back further today from its wide draw. Restrained at the start and
settled at the rear of the field. Rounding the home turn shifted out taking Hip Hip out off its
course. Apprentice Ben Allen was severely reprimanded for shifting ground when not clear.
Penny Next Door Acting on a report from trainer Bob McAdam that the mare had injured
itself enroute to the course, Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the mare at 12.17pm. Bob
McAdam will submit the relevant documentation in regard to this matter.
Trent Bridge Began awkwardly and lost ground.
Emsgem Raced greenly in the early and middle stages.
Platinum Raider Over-raced early stages. Near the 800m, when continuing to over-race, was
checked off the heels of Mr Bottomley. Raced wide from the 600m.
Jetstream Jetted Layed in under pressure in the straight. Approaching the 400m shifted in
abruptly when laying and bumped The Profit. On straightening shifted in again tightening the
running of The Profit resulting in that gelding having to ease. Rider Jack Martin was severely
reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift ground when insufficiently clear. Rider
reported that the gelding was making an unusual respiratory noise. A post-race veterinary
examination revealed the gelding to be suffering from a throat abnormality.
Purrfectly Fab Performed below market expectations. A post-race veterinary examination
revealed no abnormalities.
The Profit Near the 400m had to be steadied when bumped by Jetstream Jetted. Shortly after
this continued to race tight to the inside of Jetstream Jetted before again being hampered
when that gelding shifted in.
Hip Hip Taken wide off its course rounding the home turn.
Race 4 southern 80 @ vic park plate - 1400 metres:
Sugar Hill Landing Over-raced in the early stages.
Rochie Rosie Brushed the running rail passing the 800m.
Moscow Lady Over-raced in the early and middle stages, settling further forward than
intended. Raced wide without cover throughout.
Sundevall Layed in under pressure in the straight.
Test A Day Hung in in the straight. Approaching the 200m shifted in abruptly to avoid the
heels of Teebox.
Race 5 bourke builders handicap - 1400 metres:
Browneyedhawk Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
Secret Place Hampered at the start by Bentley Tycoon which shifted in.
Bentley Tycoon Began awkwardly.
Anne Of Brittany Slow to begin.
Quantum Light Stood flat footed and lost ground. When making ground quickly in the
straight shifted out near the 200m and again shifted off the heels of All Host which was
weakening quickly passing the 100m.
Darcis Money (NZ) Shortly after the start hampered when bumped by Secret Place.
Overraced in the early stages. Hung out when making the turn near the 1000m and lost
ground.
Any Given Day Overraced in the early stages. Rider Ben Allen was fined $400 for using his
whip on six occasions prior to the 100m. In determining penalty Stewards took into account
apprentice Allens very poor record in this area and advised him that further breaches under
this Rule within a short period may incur a harsher penalty.
Worthington Rider Sam Payne was fined $200 for using his whip on 8 occasions prior to the
100m. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account his record in this area.
Race 6 sportsbet cash card handicap - 1000 metres:
Royal Lady Sprawled at the start and lost ground.
Bertoni Overraced.
Red Almighty Held up for a run from passing the 600m until the 300m. Rider Sally Sweeney
pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, the careless riding being that near the 300m she
permitted her mount to shift out when not sufficiently clear of Mooncoin Miracle taking that
mare out onto Asha which as a result was then tightened for room between Mooncoin
Miracle and Warrior Lady and then had to be checked. Sally Sweeneys licence to ride in
races was suspended for a period to commence at midnight February 12, 2016 and to expire
at midnight February 20, 2016. (10 meetings, 4 metropolitan, 6 provincial). In assessing
penalty Stewards deemed the interference to be in the mid range and took into account Sally
Sweeneys record, guilty plea and relative inexperience.
Ahsha Passing the 600m commenced to hang out resulting in the filly having to ease off the
heels of Warrior Lady. Near the 400m was disappointed for clear running between Mooncoin
Miracle and Warrior Lady. Passing the 300m checked off the heels of Mooncoin Miracle
which was taken out by Red Almighty.
Zedi Gold Shortly after the start had to be checked when tightened for room between
Invincible Me which had shifted out and Cap Rocca which shifted in. Rider Jarrod Todd
reported that the mare hung out throughout.
Race 7 1print handicap - 1600 metres:
The Sands Slow to begin.
Jarklin Over-raced early stages.
Solas (NZ) Raced wide until striding forward to a position outside the leader near the 1000m.
Performed below market expectations. Rider Billy Egan could offer no explanation for the
poor performance. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Manna Trust Passing the 400m commenced to give ground and was hampered by Dangerpet
(Jordan Childs) which shifted out. Jordan Childs was notified to exercise more care when in
similar circumstances. Performed below market expectations. Rider Dean Yendall could offer
no explanation for the poor performance. A post race veterinary examination revealed no
abnormalities.
Royal Appointment (NZ) Hung in under pressure in the straight.
Raggerty - Rider Jarrod Todd was severely reprimanded for using his whip on 8 occasions
prior to the 100m.
Race 8 moama bowling club handicap - 1200 metres:
Vibrance Knuckled at the start and lost ground. Raced wide without cover throughout. A
post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a slower than normal recovery.
None Left Began awkwardly. Rider Mitch Aitken was fined the sum of $400 for using his
whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m.
This Is The Show Got its head up when being restrained in the early stages. Layed out
rounding the home turn. Rider Jarrod Todd reported that the gelding over-raced in the early
and middle stages and in his opinion this was detrimental to the horses performance.
Ty Pan Miss Layed in under pressure in the straight.
Got The Wink - Raced in a more forward position today. Rider Jarrod Fry explained it was
his intention to ride the gelding with cover however after beginning well from its inside draw
Got The Wink was inclined to over-race early and as a result he then elected to let Got The
Wink stride forward and hold the lead.
