Homework & Reading Log• Each child is expected to fill out their

assignment book, which is kept in their S.T.A.R. binder.

• Morning work will be collected each Friday.• Reading will be tracked in two ways…

– 1. Daily they will make a note of how many minutes or pages they have read… the choice is between you and your child. There is a place in the assignment binder on the bottom left side of the week for minutes or pages to be logged.

– 2. When they complete a book picture book or chapter book they will need to record it on the Million Word Challenge Log that will be kept in the Homework section of their S.T.A.R. binder. We will record books completed both at home and school on this log.

Something to Ponder…Isidore Rabi, Nobel Prize Laureate for Physics, when asked why he became a scientist, replied, "My mother made me a scientist without ever knowing it. Every other child would come back from school and be asked, ‘What did you learn today?’ But my mother used to say, ‘Izzy, did you ask a good question today?’ That made the difference. Asking good questions made me into a scientist.”
