Despite a promising weather forecast for the 42nd Annual Adirondack BalloonFestival September 18-21st in Warren County, event organizers are expecting a giganticdark cloud to fill the skies over the Adirondack Mountains this week. An 86-foot DarthVader-shaped hot-air balloon from Belgium will be making its first appearance in theUnited States at the 42nd Annual Adirondack Balloon Festival. Spectators will also seean elephant-shaped balloon fly over the mountains. The four-day (weather dependent)event is the oldest and largest balloon festival on the East Coast. The event is run com-pletely by volunteers and could bring 150,000 visitors to the region, according to balloonfestival president Mark Donahue. Admission to the family friendly event is FREE!
