Master Classes are the flagship training initiative of the Crawford Fund and are often de-

livered in partnership with other key agencies, including ACIAR, CSIRO, CGIAR Centres, univer-

sities and governments. Master Classes are coordinated by Professor Shaun Coffey. Since 1992,

around a 1000 people have participated in more than 50 Master Classes, held in 14 countries across

the Asia-Pacific, Africa and Australia.

Delivered by experienced instructors, each class offers high quality tuition to early and

mid-career researchers within the field they have already trained and are actively working in, to

build a higher level of expertise across emerging areas of science, policy and agribusiness. Classes

consist of lectures, discussion sessions, video presentations, laboratory work and field visits. Skills

covered include those relevant to the following areas:

1. market access, biosecurity and food policy;

2. sustaining agriculture's natural resource base;

3. global change and risk assessment, and

4. science communication and information technology

An International Master Class in Plant Biosecurity, directed by Professor John Lovett

(Foundation Chairman, Plant Biosecurity Cooperative Research Centre, Australia) will be conduct-

ed in Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia from 14-27 January 2018 (Attachment 1). Hosted by Universitas

Mahasaraswati (UNMAS) Denpasar, the 2018 International Master Class invites 24 candidates from

34 Provinces in the archipelago with the objective of capacity building. Applicants must be:

2. between the ages of 25 and 40 at the time of application;

3. an early to mid-career researcher in a field relevant to biosecurity (including social sci-

ences) from higher education, government, NGOs and private industry;

4. proficient in English (Institutional TOEFL (TOEFL ITP) 450);

5. currently working in a relevant field, and

6. holding a Bachelor's degree and may be currently enrolled in a higher degree;

All participants must fill in the registration form (Attachment 2). The participants will be

selected from nominations received, having regard to gender, field of expertise, type of employment

and geographic location. Participants will need to bring a laptop device. Participants need to submit

2. mempertahankan sumber daya alam pertanian

3. perubahan global dan penilaian resiko

4. ilmu komunikasi dan teknologi informasi

Tahun ini, Master Class Internasional tentang Ketahanan Hayati Tanaman, , diarahkan oleh

Profesor John Lovett (Foundation Chairman, Plant Biosecurity Cooperative Research Centre, Aus-

Diselenggarakan

oleh Universitas Mahasaraswati (UNMAS) Denpasar, Master Class Internasional 2018 mengundang
