    ZEOLITEZeolite Filters

    Application

    The HIDROAGUA Zeolite lters have been designed to eliminate suspended solids from water, thislters can be used at residential, commercial and industrial facilities.

    Suspended Solids

    When water installations are feed directly from natural sources (e.g. wells, rivers, lakes), the presenceof suspended solids is expected. Suspended solids can come in different forms depending on the watersource (sand, organic matter or heavy metals). Suspended solids may cause several damages on pipesystems and also provide some undesirables avors and colors in water.

    The zeolite is a volcanic material basically composed by aluminum silicate hydrate crystals. It is beenused over years in different applications like water ltration. The major difference to other materials isthe microscopic grain rough surface that means a bigger net space between grains and an increasedcontact area that improves solids retention. A zeolite lter correctly designed and operated is able toremove solids up to 5 micron size. As a result we are going to obtain crystalline water.

    These qualities provide us a lower pressure drop, better nominal retention, increase solid retentioncapability and reduce water consumption at backwash stage. The zeolite used in these equipmentsis able to achieve NSF 61 standard. In conclusion, as a result of all this advantages, zeolite has beenturned on the most common material for industrial application instead of deep bed ltration systems.

    Equipment description

    Filtering media tank: Is made in a single thermoplastic piece grade FDA (CRF 2-177), coated withberglass, assuring a free maintenance tank.

    Control: High technology control valve, is equipped with a LCD screen for information and portsfor other devices.

    Filtering media: lter media is composed of three different bed materials:

    o Zeolite

    o Silica gravel 1/8 x 1/16

    o Silica gravel x 1/8

    Operation Parameters

    Minimum pressure: 20 Psi (1.4 Kg/cm2)

    Voltage: 12 VAC, includes capsule external transformer at 127 VAC, 60 Hz.

    Temperature: 10 - 30 C ( 50 - 86 F)

    ZEOLITEEE CONTROL VALVE

    The EE model Valves are provided with a front removable cover with four buttons. The display showscurrent time, rate ux and total water volume ltered and remaining time up to next backwash as wellas the remaining capability.

    This control valve CLACK may be equipped with an external ux measurement device to programbackwash according to its capability (gallons of ltered water). If so, the valve could be programmed to

    start a backwash by delayed volume or by immediate volume. If the valve doesnt have the measurementdevice, backwash can be set to start by time between 1 up to 28 days or by week day (7 days). In thisprogram, backwash is preset to start at 2:00 AM. Nevertheless, the hour can be changed to start at anyother hour of the day that best ts with costumer needs.

    On the other hand, backwash can be set to start by external order (differential pressure switch).Backwash duration is completely adjustable and it may be set to achieve costumer needs.

    This control is able to manage up to two automatic valves of 2 paths (NHBP: no hard water by pass)or 3 paths (SEPS: separate source). In addition, this valve model allows the multiple lters installation.
