47, Great Morskaya Street, St.Petersburg – is the address of the only museum in the world devoted to the famous writer Vladimir Nabokov who was born here in 1899.

The organisers of the

Museum met a real challenge because very few things were left in the house after its nationalisation in 1917.

Nowadays visitors can see restored Library, Phone room, Dining room, Committee room and the Kitchen.

Thanks to many donators the museum houses a lot of Nabokov’s personal belongings – his set of chess, books, drawings, collection of butterflies and even his clothes.

The museum is dedicated to fostering Nabokov’s memory, his artistic legacy and cultural values. The museum not only houses exhibits related to Nabokov’s life and milieu. It also provides the research library for Nabokov scholars and holds many events and activities inspired by the great author.
