BULANDSHAHR is a city

and a municipal board in

Bulandshahr District in the

state of U.P. INDIA. It is the

administrative headquarters of

Bulandshahr District.

According to government of

INDIA,the district Bulandshahr

is one of the Minority

Concentrated District in INDIA,

on the basis of the 2011

census data on population,

socioeconomic indicators and

basic amenities indicators.

Bulandshahr District is in the

Division of Meerut and Aligarh

of Uttar Pradesh , located

between Ganga and Yumana

rivers. This is situated between

28.4 south and 28.0 north

latitude and between 77.0 and

78.0 longitude.

The District is about 84 km in

length and 62 km in breadth. The

district is 237.44 meters above

sea level. It situated in north U.P.

at 64 km from Delhi.

HISTORY

The history of Bulandshahr

begins even before 1200 BCE.

This region is close to the

capital of the Pandvas-

Indraprastha and Hastinapur.

After the decline of Hastinapur

Ahar, which is stuated in the

north-east part of Bulandshahr

District, became an important

place for Pandvas. Later the

King Parma made a fort in this

part of region.

A Tomar king named Ahibaran

laid the foundation of a fort called

Bran here and established his

capital .

It was traditional called Barn City

and only recently came to be

called Bulandshahr in official

usages.

Since it was perched on a

highland it came to be known as

“ high city” , which translates as

Bulandshahr in Persian

language.

The fort of Ahibaran situated at

Upper Court.

GEOGRAPHY AND LAYOUT

The city is located on the right bank of the Kali-Nadi

River. The portion of the city on the bluffs was called

Bulandshahr and the portion on the river bank was called

Unchanagar.

Bulandshahr city is divided into two police districts,

Kotwali Nagar (Urban) and Kotwali Dehat (Rural). King

Ahibaran's tower which is still called Baran, remains a

local landmark.

KALA AAM

Kala Aam is situated in the

centre of city Bulandshahr .

This place was symbol cruelty

of English Emperor when

freedom fighters struggle

against the Emperor then they

caught and hang then on this

place. There was a mango tree

at this place. Mango tree was

called Katla-e-Aam at that

time .The name converted now

"Kal-e- Aam" .

It is situated near Kala Aam .

It was made by Maharani

Victoria.

She was the queen of England .

India .

District Panchayat is the

highest Panchayat of District .

There are 45 members and one

president of District Panchayat.

Moti Baag is situated in the centre of

city. It is also an old building.

The political groups collected at this

place . The election office is now

here .

At here a famous govt. Eye hospital

situated also.

KHURJA CROCKERY

Khurja is a famous tahsile . Its

crockery is world famous .

Khurja , a small town and a

municipal board in Bulandshahr

District is well known and famous

for its pottery industry; chimneys of

pottery plants dot the cityscape.

Pottery industry of Khurja produces

a variety of items - from cups and

plates to highly sophisticated grand

chandeliers and room partitions.

Its goods is send all over world .

N.A.P.S. NARORA

Its name is – Narora Atomic Power

Supply .

It is an atomic power plant, one

among five such power plants in

India, is located in nearby Narora in

Bulandshahr.

The plant, located near the Ganges,

is of critical and strategic

importance to India.

At here the electricity made by

Uranium .

FORT OF CHHATARI

Chhatari was the famous town of

Bulandshahr. Its Navab was famous to

Chhatari Navab.

He made a big fort in Chhatari .

The British was respected him very

much .

He was made the vise- Chanslar of

A.M.U.

His son was Anwar who is alive also

now.

SIKANDRABAD INDUSTRIAL AREA

A neighboring town, Sikandrabad, is the only UPSIDC (UP State

Industries Development Corporation) Industrial area in

Bulandshahr district.

A large number of medium to small scale industries are situated in

this area.

Some of these are Kajaria Ceramics, Orient Ceramics, Goodluck

Pipes, Vishal Pipes, OTR Papers Pvt Ltd and Mouri yeasts.

There are also a large number of industries making Chlorinated

Paraffin Wax (CPW).

The exports from this industrial area generate over Rs. 2.5 billion

annually.

DAIRY FARMS

Bulandshahr is also famous for

its dairy farms. The milk produced

here is mainly exported

to Delhi, Punjab and Rajasthan .

The major dairy farms in

Bulandshahr are Parag, Param,

Gopaljee, Madhusudan, Rama and

Balka Dairy

TRADE EXHIBITION

Each year during March and April,

Bulandshahr hosts an exhibition a

popular event for the people of

Bulandshahr district.

This event is also known as

"Farming, Trade and Cultural

Exhibition"

It started in 1881 by King

Ahibaran .

In 1881 it is a horse imperial of

Clerk Tom . After 56 years it convert

in Exhibition .That time it was the

exhibition of horses only. After

some time its convert in "Farming,

Trade and Cultural Exhibition".

Dom, foundation, park, Baran Hall

and Ravindra Natya Shala are the

main places of the exhibition.

Flowering of exhibition is very

good .

There are three main gate of Bulandshahr

exhibition ground . Shopkeepers came

here from different places. 17, 19, 21 are

the peak days of the exhibition.

In this exhibition shopkeepers use

temporary & semi permanent structure ,

tensile structure, non-load bearing

structure, load bearing structures etc.

It is very good for advertisement , good

for study of new techniques and very

good for knowledge .

CITY DEVELOPMENT

AUTHORITY

• The city's development authority is BDA (Bulandshahr

Development Authority).

Its office is located near Bhoor Choraha which is the crossroad

where Meerut road, Ghaziabad road, Bulandshahr road & Aligarh

road meet.

• Being in the vicinity of the National Capital Region has

resulted in rapid development of Bulandshahr and in the

general improvement of the standard of its city life.

Railway station from where there are

trains to Meerut, Khurja and Allahabad.

neighboring districts.

A few of the major cities connected to

Bulandshahr with regular service are the

National Capital New Delhi, Taj city Agra,

Tala Nagari Aligarh and Pink city Jaipur.
