NGA TAKE Whanau Holidays- some whānau are taking their holidays a week early and returning a week later. This is pretty slack. None of these students have completed a full term’s work. Plagiarism- student assignments are to be written using their own individual words. Students cannot copy and paste from the internet and pass the writing as their own. Often we as teachers – the words are too complex or eight others in the class have the same answer. KURA REO- Each term there will be 2 x Kura Reo , if seniors are unable to attend their own kura reo, then they are expected to attend the junior kura reo. HOMEWORK- I will personally contact any parent if there is no homework Enrolment – is a whānau contract with the kura. If a child’s home situation changes we will need to meet again with the new caregiver to reinforce kura-whānau expectations. Truancy- attendance - below 90% is an issue. Absence is a key factor in students falling behind in learning levels. Kapa Haka is compulsory and is non -negotiable . Students are not able to opt out and dodge kapa haka. Uniform- Yes we are Māori and we expect a high standard with uniform dress. Whakahoahoa- We do not encourage boy- girl liaisons. Students become moody, mopey and cannot focus on school work. He kura mātou.
KURA REO WHAREKURA make up
All students who did not attend wharekura kura reo will attend 8 x afternoon kura classes during
Tū Ahiahi time to complete their assignments from kura reo and some reo lessons.

12th May 2014
Te Puna Ora Cardio fitness with Whiria Wednesday 6:00 – 6:45am $5, Basketball - Wednesday 6:00-8:00pm $5. The gym is well used during the after school programme with a big focus on Area School Sports, training for Futsal, Volleyball, Netball and Basketball. Students are also training during lunch breaks as we are only 4 weeks away from the Regional’s. Sean, Deb and Whiria are focusing on Agility, Cardio and Swimming. We have a good team of coaches and managers but they are all teachers or school support staff that volunteer their time, there must be some whanau out there that can help… please where are you all!!!!!!?
Te Puna Wai Aqua Zumba will start again on Wednesday nights from 6pm till 7pm $8.00. Every Sunday from 27th April the pool will be open to the public 2pm - 5pm. We completed general maintenance in the pool over the holidays with the complete over haul on all the lights. Doubtless Bay Swim Club are back over the winter period and we wel-come their support for 2014.
Quote of the week “ Our father who art in rink, Hockey be thy name, Thy will be done, the cup be won,
On ice, as well as in the stands, Give us this day, our hockey sticks, And forgive us
our penalties, As we forgive those, Who cross-check against us, Lead us not into
elimination, But deliver us to victory, in the name of the fans, And the holy sport,
Amen.”
To make our 21st Birthday year a success get involved
