תפלהte-fi-lah’prayer
עמידהa-mi-dah’standing
יי , שפתי תפתח , פי יגיד תהלתך
Adonai, se-fa-tai’ tif-tach’, u-fi ya-gid’ te-hi-la-te’-cha.Adonai, lips my You will open and mouth my will tell glory Your.
fi (פי ) is made up of "peh" (פה) which means "mouth" and the “ i” (י) suffixwhich means "my", and because of the "u" ( ) meaning "and" , the p-sound issoftened to an f-sound (פ without the dot/dagesh); therefore the word "fi".
