    The institute of Industrial Engineers

    Industrial engineering (IE) is about choices. Other engineering disciplines apply skills to very specific areas. IE

    gives you the opportunity to work in a variety of businesses.

    The most distinctive aspect of industrial engineering is theflexibilitythat it offers. Whether its shortening a rollercoaster line, streamlining an

    operating room, distributing products worldwide, or manufacturing

    superior automobiles, all share the common goal of savingcompanies moneyand increasing efficiencies.

    Industrial engineers figure out how to do things better.

    Industrial Engineering?

    Industrial Engineering is concerned with thedesign, improvement, and installation of integratedsystems of people, materials, information,

    equipment, and energy. It draws upon specialized knowledgeand skill in

    the mathematical, physical, and socialsciencestogether with the principlesand methodsof
