1.1.4. Welcome : 17 July, morning and afternoon until 17h. All the delegations should plan to arrive in Rio de Janeiro for this date. 1.1.5.1. General:To offer the Marist youth of the world an experience of meeting, exchange, personal growth and connection, by means of a process of formation, solidarity activities, and spirituality, in view of the International Gathering Marist Youth and the World Youth Day 2013.

1.1.5.2. Specific:• To assure a process of preparation by young Marists for the IGMY and the WYD.• To deepen the dimension of the evangelizing internationality of Marist youth, by celebrating its richness and in renewing the spirit of service and solidarity.• To encourage the undertaking of the Institute to go to the encounter with its Marist roots, in view of the celebration of the bicentenary of its foundation in 2017.• To promote spaces for expression and exchange among the young people, through the sharing of 'dreams', questionings and realisations, in giving responses to the Institute and to the calls of the XXI General Chapter.• To offer Marist youth an experience of inter-ecclesial living on the international level, by becoming a disciple-missionary following Mary’s example.

1.2. Missionary Week (Before the Day)

1.2.2. Participants : Youth of the Provinces/Districts of the Marist world who, because of the limited number of places, cannot be present at the IGYM 2013 | CHANGE, but desire to take part in the Missionary Week (Before the Day).

1.2.4. Welcome : the Marist pilgrims will be welcomed from 16 July, all day, in the cities chosen for the Missionary Week.

1.2.5. Transport : the Marist pilgrims should plan travel to the place indicated, as well as the transport for Rio de Janeiro for the World Youth Day.

Reminder : The delegations of Marist pilgrims who choose to take part in the Missionary Week must directly contact those responsible in the Provinces, in conformity with the above table. The Provinces will shortly send information about the city, reception place and matters relevant for the delegations of Marist pilgrims.

1.3. World Youth Day – WYD

1.3.1. Date : 23 - 28 July 2013

1.3.2. Participants : Marist youth 16 years and older

1.3.3. Place : Rio de Janeiro (RJ)

1.3.5. Places of accomodation : there will be 1,100 places for Marist youth from around the world, including those who will take part in the IGMY. The places will be assigned according to the order of enrollment.

1.3.6. Period of accomodation : 22 - 30 July 2013

1.3.7. Welcome : the youth will be welcomed on 22 July, all day, at the « Colégio Marista São José » – Tijuca. In the evening, there will be a reception for the Marist pilgrims, a celebration and cocktail of friendship.

1.4. What to bring:

• Sleeping bag or mat ; • Blankets ;• Sheets, towel and bath towel :• Personal articles of hygiene ;• Clothing and shoes for sport and outings ;• Hat and sun cream ;• Medications (for habitual use or recommended by a doctor) ;• Comfortable clothing, light jumper (minimum temperature in Rio de Janeiro in July : 17°) ;• Radio FM with earphones (indispensible for following simultaneous translation during the IGMY and the WYD) or portable telephone provided with FM radio frequencies; • Material for the cultural presentation of the Province/District : pieces of music (of up to 5 minutes duration), typical dress, etc.• Souvenirs to exchange with other countries.

2. Enrollments

1st Step – Choice of delegate The Province/District must choose a delegate who will be responsible for the co-ordination of information and the centralisation of enrollments.

2nd Step – Registration of the delegateThe chosen delegate must register on the site http://2013change.org/?page_id=237

3rd Step – Access to the enrollment zone The delegate will receive by mail a login and a password for enrolling the participants of the Province/District on the meeting site http://2013change.org

4th Step – Choice of participantsEach Province/District must choose its participants for the IMYM 2013 – CHANGE and the WYD, in conformity with the following modalities :• MODALITY 1 : IGMM 2013 | CHANGE + WYD• MODALITY 2 : WYD*• MODALITY 3 : IGMY 2013 | CHANGE*The participants enrolled according to MODALITY 2 will have the possibility of being accepted for the Missionary Week. The delegations interested in the Missionary Week, after enrollment and the choice of city, will be put in contact with the host Provinces.

5th Step – Enrollment of participantsThe delegate must enroll the participants from his Province/District according to the available modalities and, in the case where there are participants for MODALITY 2 interested in the Missionary Week, he must include the corresponding choice in the enrollment form.

6th Step – PaymentPayment should be made by bank transfer (all countries except Brasil).

7th Step – Confirmation of enrollmentAfter the payment is made, the delegate will receive confirmation of the enrollments by mail.

IMPORTANT : Enrollments for the WYD will be made exclusively by the Organizing Commission of the IGMY 2013 | CHANGE, through the Marist Union of Brasil (UMBRASIL). We insist : no Marist delegation registered on the site 2013change.org should enroll directly on the WYD site.

3.2. Classification of countries and territories: Costs vary according to the modalities of the 'packages' (which may or may not include lodging and meals), as well as the classification of the countries. To facilitate aid for pilgrims coming from economically poorer countries, costs have been classified into three categories : A, B and C. 4. Time Limits

When enrollments are opened, they must be made up to 31 December 2012. Observation : the Organizing Commission suggests that Provinces and Districts proceed without delay, before the opening of enrollments for the IGMY 2013 | CHANGE, to choosing the members of the Delegations for all modalities of enrollment.

5. Supplementary Information

5.1. Currency : The currency used in Brasil is the 'Real' (R$). We advise changing money in the country of origin or at the international airport of Rio de Janeiro, on arrival in the city, for this service will not be available at « Colégio San José » – Tijuca. We also suggest using the Travel Card for large sums. In Brasil, foreign currencies are not accepted in local commerce.

5.2. 5.2. Temperature : Brasil being a tropical country of continental dimensions, the temperature can change considerably from one region to another. In the month of July, it is winter-

• Rio de Janeiro : the temperature varies from 17°C to 31°C• Curitiba : the temperature varies from 0°C to 21°C• Porto Alegre : the temperature varies from 3°C to 26°C• Mendes : the temperature varies from 12°C to 20°C

5.3. 5.3. Baggage : apart from clothing adapted to the temperatures described above, participants should bring what is listed at point 1.4 of this letter.

Observation : We do not advise bringing electronic equipment such as notebook, tablet and other objects of value. The Marist Institute, l'União Marista do Brasil and the Colégio Marista São José – Tijuca would not be responsible for losses, damage and thefts.
