Mekong ICT Camp
Mekong ICT Camp is a biannual training workshop on information,
communication, and technologies for NGOs, citizen media included
community health, and civil society development in Mekong sub-region.
What is Mekong ICT Camp?
• Mekong ICT Camp was established by Thai Fund Foundation in 2008
• Inspired from Asia Source
• A gap of ICT knowledge in Mekong sub-region• Create common learning space whereby
participants can exchange their ICT knowledge and skills.
• It’s ICT innovation workshop

Developers, citizen journalists, health workers, Hackers, government officers, social theorists, activists, in one room!
Thai Fund Foundation organised the 1st Mekong ICT Camp in 2008 at Leaning Centre, Thammasat University, Pattaya campus, Thailand.

1. Developing project, the scheduling, and the processing required for the seminar.
2. Budgeting. 3. Fundraising4. Searching for more allies.5. Preparing the curriculum harmonized with the context of Mekong sub-
regions.6. Inviting the guest lecturer with helpful specialties from around the world.7. Finding the proper location8. Selecting the country committee for qualify the participants9. Selecting the moderator10.Promoting the project11.Recruiting the participants12.Cooperating for the participants’ transportation
• Along five days of workshops, sessions were loosely divided into tracks.

There are some problems can be happened, mostly were from these following; 1)Fundraising
2)Dealing with Donor requirement
3) Participant Security

Fundraising
1)Raise Fund to cover 75,000- 80,000 USD,
2) 4-5 months to tackle it!

PLAN B, SOLUTION It!
•Re-sizing the workshop
•contribute requirement from participant
•Asked If speaker can contribute

2) Dealing with Donor requirement - Normally it ok but;
-In case seriously, when NO “win win ” situation.
-The Donors who have different principle.
3) Protect Participant Privacy& Security
-Different Policy, Different understand but;
-Security awareness
-Protect them
