Grinding is a process to produce a high quality surface finish with very less tolerance, it is also used for machining of hard materials. It has a grinding wheel which rotates at a very high pace along the circumference of the work piece.

Grinding Wheel is an expandable wheel which carries an abrasive compound on its periphery. These wheels are made up of coarse particles, compressed together to form a circular wheel.

It is used to produce a smooth finish on a flat surface. Surface grinding is the most common of the grinding operations. It is a finishing process that uses a rotating abrasive wheel to smooth the flat surface of metallic or non-metallic materials to give them a more refined look or to attain a desired surface for a functional purpose.
SURFACE GRINDING
The surface grinder is composed of an abrasive wheel, a work holding device known as a chuck, and a reciprocating table. The chuck holds the material in place while it is being worked on.

It is a method of material removal through grinding, similar to centered grinding except for the absence of the spindle. It has high throughput, i.e. a large number of parts can be manufactured in a short time.
CENTERLESS GRINDING
The work piece is set up between the regulating wheel and the grinding wheel, and is supported by the work). The work rest is located between the wheels. The work is placed upon the work rest, and the latter together with the regulating wheel is fed forward forcing the work against the grinding wheel.
