Lesson Plan School: Şcoala cu Clasele I – VIII Nr. 22 „Mircea Eliade” Class teacher: Buligiu Cornelia Date: 27th October 2010 Class: V Time: 50’ Textbook: Snapshot Lesson: A day in the life of a film star (Past Tense Simple, countable / uncountable nouns – how much / how many, some / any) Teaching aims: - to revise selected vocabulary items (food, drink, enjoyable activities)
- to practice the Past Tense Simple in various contexts (completing sentences, filling a timetable, interaction with other pupils)
- to use their knowledge about nouns in asking questions and giving answers - to use their knowledge about Past Tense Simple to fill in gaps in a text about one of their favourite actors
- to complete a menu - to imagine pleasant activities in the past Type of lesson: revision and consolidation Teaching aids: xerox copies with a short presentation of an actor and two exercises, work sheets for each group Assumptions: Most pupils are confident in using Past Tense Simple and know a lot of words related to food and drink. Anticipated problems: They may have problems with some irregular verbs as well as with the use of some and any. Working in groups will make them a bit noisy.

- “Because you completed the task, you get to open the secret message you have above the text.” - Give them a few moments to read the message and then ask them to fill in the name of their favourite actor, they must choose one of the names on the blackboard, according to the name they choose you can ask them to make teams

4. Practice 25’
- “So, you met your favourite actor last week. Work in teams and try to remember what you did around 10 am., 11 am., 1 pm., 2 pm., 5 pm., 7 pm., 8 pm., 9 pm., 10 pm.
Writing and speaking
- Each team decides upon their programme and write it in their notebooks, then each team presents it.

- “This was the first day, but you won two days. On the second day you decided to have a picnic. You needed a lot of things for the picnic so you had to help each other. - Give each team a worksheet.

- They speech among themselves and decide upon the menu. - After they complete their task, each pupil in team 1 and 2 has to check with the 3rd team how much / how many food and things they have. E.g. How much coffee do we have? How many oranges do you have.

- “Turn the page and you have two exercises about the picnic, too.” Seven pupils make do exercise 1, and seven exercise 2. - When they finish I ask them to read the exercise.

a* If there is enough time left, I can ask them to imagine that the three actors are in the same room with
us, they are reporters and ask them a few questions. Three volunteers play the three actors and answer the
question.
