Grundsa'tzlich s i n d vom D a c h h e r s t e ! l e r d i e i d e a l e n B e f e s t i g u n g s p u n k t e zu e r f r a g e n . I s t das n i c h t n o g l i c h , kann wie f o l g t v e r -f a h r e n werden:

1.1 Die B e f e s t i g u n g s s c h i e n e n (3) werden i n einem Abstand von c a . 80 cm ( j e nach Dachkontur) a u f das Dach gema'B Abb. A a u f m o n t i e r t .

Je nach Dachtyp i s t der Abstand (X) (Abb. B) des Versteifungsrahmens (25) im Dachinneren zu e r m i t t e l n , von auRen anzuzeichnen und das Lochbi Id durch d i e Befestigungsschiene (3) mit Durchmesser 6,1 mm abzubohren. Der Abstand der zwei gegeniiberliegenden Be-'estigungsschienen darf jedoch 134 cm n i c h t uberschreiten (Abb. A + B). An-d e r n f a l l s s i n d d i e B e f e s t i g u n g s s c h i e nen nach den i n Abb. C gezeigten P r i n -z i p weiter innen zu montieren.

Je nach Dachwolbung e v t ! . den Unter-l e g k e i l (2) m i t m o n t i e r e n , damit d i e B e f e s t i g u n g s s c h i e n e m b g l i c h s t waag-r e c h t l i e g t .

Bei einem a u s r e i c h e n d s t a b i l e n Holzrahmen konnen auch H o l z s c h r a u -ben v e r w e r d e t werden.

Depending on the r o o f type the space (X) between the support member (25) of your r o o f ( i l l u s . B) should be determined from i n s i d e o f c a r and then masked on o u t s i d e of r o o f . Next bore the d r i l l - h o l e s u s i n g the r a i l (3) as a p a t t e r n . Bore d i a . i s 6.1 mm (a s c a n t 1/4 i n . ) . The d i s t a n c e between the two opposing anchoring r a i l s may not measure more than 134 cm (ILLus. A + B). Otherwise the anchoring r a i l s are t o be mounted c l o s e r together (see ILLus. C).

T r a n s l i f t Grundtrager mit StlitzfuBen sind nur geeignet fur Autodacher mit s t a b i l e r Regenrinne, die eine sichere Montage der StUtzfUBe ermb'glicht! (Im Z w e i f e l s f a l l beim Fachmann nachfragen

T r a g e r p r o f i l e dUrfen nur i n einer Hb'he Uber 2 m liber die Regenrinne hinausragen.

Bei Wohnmobilen mit Hubdachern werden die beiden Tra'gerprofile so vor und hinter das Hubdach montiert , daB es s ich ohne zu s t r e i f e n bffnen l a B t . (Abb. A) . Bei Fahrzeugen mit normalen Da'chern s o l l t e n d ie beiden T r a g e r p r o f i l e i n einem Abstand von ca.100-120 cm mont ier t werden. FUr den S k i t r a n s p o r t max. 80 cm (s. Abb. B und C). Bei der Montage auf P a r a l l e l i t a t der Tra-g e r p r o f i l e achten!

Nur bei Erstmontage: Abdeckung (18) vom T r a g e r p r o f i l abziehen, Schrauben (12a) am V e r s t e l l p r o f i l (12b) lockern und den gesamten StUtzfuB in die untere Nut des T r a g e r p r o f i l s (11) e i n -schieben (Abb. D). Trager mit den noch n i c h t f i x i e r t e n SttitzfliBen (12) in die Regenrinnen einsetzen. Der Dachrinnenschoner (12c) i s t entspre-chend der Abb. D anzuwenden. Nun zuerst die K r a l l e (13) festschrauber. Dann die Schrauben (12a) festzieher.. Schraubenverbindungen von Zeit : - l e - : b'len oder f e t t e n .

AbschlieBbare K r a l l e r :13; Durch AbschlieBen des STRlcsses wird der Zugang zur Spannschraube verdeckt. Dadurch kdnnen die SttitzfuBe nicht r.ehr vo i Auto-dach abmontiert werden.

Use the gutter protectors (12c) as shown in i l l u s . D. Now t ighten down jaw (13) f i r s t , then t ighten screws (12a).

Die z u r B e f e s t i g u n g des T r a n s l i f t auf d i e D a c h r e l i n g notwendigen S p a n n s c h e l l e n m'ussen passend zum Relingsdurchmesser gewahlt wer-den.

Z u e r s t d i e Spannschellen gema'B Abb. A o f f -nen und an d i e D a c h r e l i n g klemmen, K u l i s -s e n s t e i n (15a) etwas l o c k e r n . Abdeckung (18) vom T r a g e r p r o f i l (11) abziehen und f l a c h e P r o f i l n u t i n d i e Spa n n s c h e l l e e i n -sc h i e b e n . (Abb. B ) . 4. 61 ei tschienenanschla'ge

Nach erfolgter Montage des Translift-Grund-tragers wie unter 1 . , 2. , 3 . , beschrieber., werden die Gleitschienenanschlage (10) in die untere, flache Nut des Tragerprof11 es eingeschoben (siehe Abb.) und die Gleit-schienen vorsichtig in Beladestellung abgeschwenkt.

Den Gleitschienenanschlag (10) so positio-nieren und mit Schraube (10a) festziehen, daB noch ein genugender Abstand (X) zwi-schen abgeschwenkter Gleitschiene und Fahrzeug bestehen bleibt.

AbschluBkappe (18) am unteren Tragerprofil (11) aufstecken.

Bei sehr b r e i t e n Fahrzeugen i s t d i e Montage der Gl e i t s c h i e n e n a n s c h l a g e n i c h t moglich. Hier e r f u L L t i n der Regel der S t i i t z f u B d i e Funktion des Gl e i t s c h i e n e n a n s c h l a g e s . In So n d e r f a l l e n muB am Fahrzeug im G l e i t s c h i e -nenbereich e i n S c h u t z s t r e i f e n (Y) ( z . B. ca. 20 cm sel b s t k l e b e n d e Z i e r l e i s t e ) angebracht werden.

4. SIide rai1 stops

After the Translift standard rack has been sucessfully mounted as described in 1., 2 . , 3. insert the slide r a i l stops (10) in lower shallow slot of r a i l (see i l l u s . ) and carefully swing the slide r a i l down into loading position.

Position the sl ide rai l stop (10) with screw (10a) so that there is sufficient s o ; : ; .:•') between the lowered slide r a i l and the vehicle.

Put end cap (19) onto r a i l end (11).

With very wide a _ t c - c c . e s , the mounting of the s l i d e r a i l stops i s not p o s s i b l e . In t h i s case, the support leg g e n e r a l l y takes over the f u n c t i o n of the s l i d e r a i l stops. In spec's. :=ses, a chafing patch must be mountec . - e r e :-e s l i d e r a i l stops normally are se:_-ec CY) ( f o r example ca. 20 cm of s e l f - s e a l i n g molding).

Abschwenken der Gleitschienen in Beladestellung. Ein r icht ig eingestelIter Gleitschienenanschlag (10) verhindert eine Berlihrung der Gleitschienen mit dem Fahrzeug.

5.3 Ladegut (z. B. Surfboard) auflegen und festzurren (Abb. B). Darauf achten, daB die Gleitschienen parallel bleiben, da durch evt l . Verkanten das Aufschwenken und Verschieben erschwert oder verhindert wird.

5. Instructions for use

5.1 The locking mechanism of the Trans-l i f t slide r a i l s can be released by l i f t i n g catch spring 9 ( i l l u s . A). This w i l l allow the slide r a i l to be ~ : v e - : : ' the rai l slot (11).

Hat eine Gleitschiene zuviel Spiel i n Ver-schieberichtung (normal i s t ca. 1 r ~ ) , s: kann der Mittenanschlag (8) njchgsste"": werden.

Rastet die *erriegelung (9) n i c h t mehr von s e l b s t e i n , so kb'nrte s i c h am Mi ttenanschlag (8) Schmutz oder d e r g l e i -chen coge^ger: -<~zzi-. Is: r e s ''z'ni der F a l l , sc s o l l t e der Mittenanschlag neu p o s i t i o n i e r t werde r.

Lassen sich die Gleitschienen i n beladenen Zustand nur schwer verschieben, so kdnnten sie durch das Festzurren des Ladegutes ver-spannt worden sein. Auch etwas G l e i t f e t t kann helfen.

Vorsicht! Nur mit exakt verrasteter Verriegelung und mit aufgesteckter und abgeschlosse-ner Profilkappe (14) fahren. Un?allgefahr!

14. Wartung und Pflege

A l l e Schlosser regelmaBig mit sherpas-SchloBpflegemittel pflegen und mit Schutz-kappe (13a) abdecken.

Rollenlager, Fuhrungsleisten und Spann-schrauben regelma'Big fetten.

13. Possible defects

If a s l i d e r a i l has too much play in the s l i d i n g d i r e c t i o n (normal play i s approx. 1 mm (1/32 in.) adjust the center-stop (8).

If the locking mechanism (9) does not snap shut by i t s s e l f there could be d i r t or other matter i n the center-stop (8). If that i s not the source of the problem then readjust the center-stop.

I f s l i d e r a i l s are hard to s l i d e when loaded i t could be because of the tension from lashing down. A l i t t l e dide l u b r i c a t i o n w i l l help.

10. Zur Diebstahlsicherung eines komplet-ten Surfboards (Abb. A) benbtigt man ein sherpas-MastschloB mit S t a h l s e i l , A r t . Nr. 615-01, und die Masthalte-rung 614-01.

Die Glei tschienen konnen mit Oder ohne Ladegut vom Grundmodell l e i c h t getrennt werden, indem man deren M i t -tenanschlagsseite (8) in P f e i l r i c h t u n g liber die Rastfeder (9) wei terschiebt (Abb. B ) .

10. To prevent t h e f t of an e n t i r e wind-board ( i l l u s . A) use the sherpas mast lock and cable (Art . Nr. 615-01) and mast holder 614-01.

The s l i d e r a i l s can be removed from the standard rack with or without the load. Simply push the center stop side (8) past the catch spring (9) i n the d i r e c t i o n of arrow ( i l l u s . B) .

11. Zur platzsparenden Unterbringung von T r a n s ! i f t - G l e i t s c h i e n e n samt Ladegut z . B. an Garagenwanden g i b t es den Wandbeschlag, A r t . Nr. 690-01.1 (16).

Die Wandbeschlage werden entsprechend des Abstandes der Gle i tschienen an die Wand geschraubt. Daran kann nun der gesamte Aufbau f e r t i g verzurr t bis zum nachsten Gebrauch eingehangt werden, (Siehe Abb. C) .
