n POLITIEKEmeningsverskil oor
beweerde wanpraktyke met geld
wat die Dihlabeng-munisipaliteit
in 2012 glo vir die jaarlikse lug-
skou bewillig het, het tussen twee
gemeenskapsleiers van Bethle-
hem ontvlam.
Roy Jankielsohn, koukusvoor-
sitter van die DA in die Vrystaat,
het die Vrystaatse wetgewer en
premier Ace Magashule ingelig
dat die komitee van die Bethle-
hem-lugskou R100 000 van die mu-
nisipaliteit ontvang het en dat van
di geld in die sakke van twee
raadslede en een van die raadslede
se verloofdes beland het. Alle in-
ligting hieroor kom van verslae
wat op n raadsvergadering as
raadstukke gedien het. Die wet en
regulasies is duidelik dat indien
die raad geld skenk, geen raadslid
finansile voordeel daaruit mag
trek nie. Die verslag van die lug-
skou wat in die raad gedien het,
het verwys na salarisse van
R10 000.
Jankielsohn s Japie Pienaar en
dr. Clem Harrington, albei ANC-
raadslede, het elk R10 000 as sala-
ris ontvang, asook Harrington se
verloofde. Harrington is die voor-
sitter van die Bethlehem-lugskou-
komitee.
Die Munisipale Stelselwet/2000
(skedule 1) het n gedragskode vir
munisipale raadslede (seksie 6)
wat oor persoonlike voordele van
raadslede handel.
Hiervolgens mag n raadslid nie
voordele of vergoeding ontvang
vir dienste gelewer aan die muni-
sipaliteit of vir die uitvoering van
enige werk anders as n munisipa-
le raadslid nie.
Jankielsohn verwys ook na die
Munisipale Finansile Bestuurs-
wet (nr. 56/2003) wat in 2005 in
werking getree het.
Dit raak volgens hom enige
raadslid, lid van die provinsiale
wetgewer of die Nasionale Verga-
dering of die Nasionale Raad van
Provinsies.
In kort kom dit daarop neer dat
geen raadslid bykomend n salaris
vir gemeenskapsdiens mag ont-
vang nie.
Ons het nou helderheid oor
waarom die twee betrokke raads-
lede poste by die ANC verkry het
nadat hulle nieweer in die DAher-
kies is nie.
Ons is in afwagting om te sien
watter aksie die premier van die
Vrystaat en die LUR vir samewer-
kende regering gaan neem oor die
oortreding van nasionale wetge-
wing en regulasies. Die raadslede
se onwettige aksies stel die muni-
sipale raad, sowel as die prestige-
lugskou waarby hulle betrokke is,
onder ernstige verdenking.
Harrington s DA-raadslid Ben
Venter het dieselfde gal probeer
braak op n raadsvergadering en
hy glo dat Venter Jankielsohn se
inligtingsbron was.
Die raad het nie R100 000 aan
die lugskou geskenk nie. Sommige
opposisieraadslede slaap nie tuis
nie, maar in vergaderings.
Dit is waarskynlik hoekom
Venter nie meer die DA-koukus se
voorsitter is nie en waarom hy fik-
sie die lug kan instuur.
n Mens wonder of Jankiel-
sohn aan die lid van die wetgewer
ges het DA-raadslede vind baat
deur toegangskaartjies gratis te
ontvang vir lugskoukaartjies wat
deur diemunisipaliteit aangekoop
is.
n Lugskouword 12maande ge-
organiseer. Baie kilometers word
afgel, fakse uitgestuur en oproepe
gemaak. Die uitgawes kom uit die
sak van sekere klublede. Hulle be-
stee ook hul tyd aan die organise-
ring.
Slegs een personeellid verdien
n salaris by die vliegklub. Geen
van die mense deur Jankielsohn
genoem het salarisse ontvang
nie. Glo Jankielsohn werklik dat
n professionele mens vir R10 000
n jaar sal werk?
Wat het Jankielsohn vir die ge-
meenskap op toerismegebied bete-
ken? Die vliegklub is nie n muni-
sipale entiteite nie en kan derhal-
we n toekenning maak aan
iemand wat in diens van die staat
is, s Harrington.

swayed from one thing to ano-
ther; and
) we should bemen andwomen
of courage and strength.

Beware of
car hijacking
THE Easter holidays are upon us
and the police are faced with differ-
ent challenges, one in particular be-
ing car hijackings.
Sgt Majang Skalkie, spokesper-
son for the police, says the road be-
tweenBethlehemandReitz is one of
the targeted roads by hijackers.
People stand on the side of the
road and pretend to be hitchhikers,
only to hijack the car when on the
road.Driversmust refrain fromgiv-
ing people lifts as they are putting
their lives in danger.
The hitchhikers may be carrying
dangerous weapons and end-up
harming the drivers when taking
their cars and other belongings,
says Skalkie.
Hints to avoid car hijacking
) Be familiar with your environ-
ment.
) Be constantly on the lookout for
suspicious-looking vehicles.
) Lock all your doors and windows
before driving.
)Never pick up hitchhikers.
If confronted by hijackers
) Donot loseyourcoolwhen threat-
ened or challenged by hijackers.
) Gather as much information as
possible about hijackers without
posing a threat.
) Know the description and regis-
tration number of your vehicle.
) Phone the police immediately af-
ter hijackers have left the scene.
) Immediately proceed to stop all
bank accounts thatmay be accessed
through the loss of any personal be-
longing, blacklist your cell phone
and report your identification docu-
ments stolen.
The police in the Eastern Free
State also appeal to the community
to please take care of themselves
and their property this Easter.
If a person is to leave their home
during this time, they should make
sure that their property is locked
and they should ask a trusted friend
to look after their home.
Safety hints for Easter
)Avoid using isolated ATMs and
using the ATM late at night.
)Avoid carrying large amounts of
money.
)When going out with small chil-
dren, hold them by the hand as they
may go missing.
) Carry your purse close to your
body, or your wallet inside your
pocket.
)Never accept a lift from a
stranger.
)Never leave your cellphone in
public unattended.
)Always conceal your cellphone
when walking in the street.

Lesers is op Vrystaat se Face-

omtrent gevra.
Stefan de Bruin: Nee. Ek glo
nie in politieke snert nie. In die
siek land van ons is menseregte
belangriker as God se regte, so,
nee!
Magda Steyn: Nee, want net se-
kere mense het regte.
Alanda Dieroff: Glad nie. Ek
vier n rustige gesinsdag. Ek voel
asof my regte geskend is, omge-
keerde-apartheidsindroom. Ek is

THE Cluny Animal Trust in
Fouriesburg will be hosting a golf
day on 31 May at the Clarens Golf
Club.
The purpose of the event is to
raise funds for the development of
the animal hospital in Fouries-
burg and surrounding areas.
The Cluny Animal Trust is an
independent, non-governmental
organisation established in 2011 to
serve the needs of animals owned
by impoverished residents of the
Eastern Free State.
People are invited to reach out
and help the Cluny Animal Trust
and to achieve this goal, which is
to save the lives of animals.
These animals are mans best
friends. They are alway there
when one feels alone, they never
give up on us when we dont give
them the attention that they need.
They are loyal friends to their
owners.
The organisers and co-ordina-
tors of the golf day on behalf of
Cluny are looking for sponsors
for the 18 holes.
Sponsorship for each hole will
be R1 000 per hole, which allows
the sponsor to advertise on the
appropriate hole.
Any form of sponsorship
regarding prizes will be apprecia-
ted.
The competition will be a four-
ball better ball. The entrance is
R1 200 for four players, which
includes a light lunch at the
half-way mark and a prize-giving
dinner in the evening.

Menseregte
moet ook
van regering
aandag kry
MENSEREGTEDAG. Sharpevilledag.
Dt is wat vandag in Suid-Afrika gevier
word n geleentheid vir mense om hul
toewyding tot die respektering en
beskerming van menseregte vir almal te
herbevestig.
Ons soek nie skelms in die munisipa-
liteit nie. Ons soek basiese menseregte.
Die Vereniging van Plaaslike Owerhe-
de (Salga) moet werkers se regte respek-
teer. Ons soek n verhoging van 9%. Dit
of niks nie.
Ons maak beswaar teen die ho
salarisse van sekere bestuurslui, terwyl
ons wat die werk in moeilike omstandig-
hede doen, dikwels met verouderde,
ontoereikende toerusting aan die agterste
speen suig.
se regte is steeds in gedrang. Korrupsie
in die regering, nepotisme, selfverryking,
swak bestuur, misdaad in die algemeen
en vele ander euwels bedreig daagliks
Suid-Afrikaners se regte.
Die Verklarende Handwoordeboek van
die Afrikaanse Taal (HAT) van 2011
beskryf menseregte as regte wat elke
lewende wese van nature toekom afge-
sien van sy status, kleur, beskawing.
Menseregte is in 1948 in die Handves
van Mensregte-verklaring van die
Verenigde Nasies (VN) in 30 artikels
saamgevat en word universeel aanvaar.
Nie alle Suid-Afrikaners gaan vandag
Menseregtedag vier nie. Vir die meeste
mense is dit slegs n vakansiedag.
In baie stadions sal menseregte egter
oor luidsprekers besing en voorgepraat
word. Min sprekers sal daarop wys dat
saam met regte ook pligte kom.
n Handves vir menseregte is so
doeltreffend soos wat die regering dit
toepas.
Dit sal gepas wees as die regering
vandag liewer sy gewete ondersoek.
Die bevinding mag ten hemele skree.
Sommige oomblikke kan nie vasgevang word
Igno van Niekerk
ONS was sommer vroeg Sondagoggend
reeds aan die gang. Daar is niks so vars,
tintelend en inspirerend soos herfstyd in
die Oos-Vrystaat nie. N n vroegoggend-
stappie op die plaas was ons sommer
lekker honger en gereed om ons twee
musikantvriende, Bruce en Barbara, in die
gegons van Clarens op n Sondagoggend te
laat deel.
strumente uitgehaal. Barbara is n uitne-
klavier in. Binne sekondes is Barbara
agter die klawers. Die note klink tussen
rokke, tafeltjies en ornamente. Ek vra
toestemming om fotos te neem. Ek probeer
agter haar; die eienaar wat stil luister;
Haar gesig
vul met emosie. Sy lig n artikel van die
rak af: My dad made these.
Of hy die
spesifieke een gemaak het, sal n mens
nooit kan s nie.
Maar die wonderwerk is die eienaar
van die winkel wat opstaan, nader stap,
en in die harde ekonomiese tyd waarin
ons leef vir Barbara s: You blessed
me with your music. I bless you with this
gift.
Barbara se o was vol trane. Bruce sn
wreld.
En die trane uit my o gevee.
Andr se konsert
iets besonders
ALIDA STEYN EN SUSANNE
LIEBENBERG:
DANKIE aan Pro Arte vir die on-
gelooflike voorreg om Andr
Schwartz in die Bethlehemse Wes-
kerk te kon beleef. Hy het self die
akoestiek van die gebou as beeld-
skoon beskryf.
Ons het die kunstenaar in sy vele
fasette beleef en was bendruk met
sy besonderse begaafdheid en uit-
muntende vertolking van verskil-
lende genres. Om hom ook voor die
klavier te kon sien inskuif was ver-
rassende afwisseling.
Die agtergrondmusiek, beligting
en sy kommunikasie met die gees-
driftige gehoor getuig van profes-
sionaliteit, fyn smaak en waarde-
ring.
in Phantom of the Opera.
Dat ProArte vir Bethlehem in sa-
mewerking met Bethlehem-Wes se
NG kerk die geleentheid gebied het
om n kunstenaar van di formaat
te ontvang stem tot dankbaarheid.
Dankie vir die poging en onver-
moeide ywer. Sulke konserte is van
onskatbare waarde vir kultuurbe-
vordering op Bethlehem. Al die in-
woners van die dorp moes daar ge-
wees het. Alle sukses vir soortgely-
ke toekomstige optredes.
Dit is ons verantwoordelikheid
om sulke konserte te ondersteun.
Operation a
nightmare
CONCERNED PATIENT, Bethle-
hem:
I AM a 60-year-old woman who
recentlyunderwent ahernia opera-
tion.
I was to be at a provincial hospi-
tal very early on 6 February.
On arrival, I was admitted to the
ward and prepared for the opera-
tion. Imagine my surprise when I
was given an epidural instead of
general anaesthesia.
Until then Ihadnot seenadoctor,
and the epidural was administered
by an intern.
I was wheeled into the theatre.
No one checked to see if the epidu-
ral had taken.
The surgeon picked up his scal-
pel and cut through me. I felt pain
like never before and screamed. I
could not breathe.
Iwokeup inward 2 andwas lying
in a sopping wet bed.
I called the nurses and asked
them to change the linens.
They said they would be with me
soon and kept on saying this the
whole afternoon.
By this time my legs and arms
were blue with the cold and I could
not take the cold anymore. I got out
of bed, my legs still numb and fell.
Then the nurses rushed to helpme.
I still had not seen a doctor.
The next day I was discharged.
For a week my head buzzed and I
could not eat or hear.
Nothing has been explained to
me at all, either in die hospital or
since I got home.
What kind of training does our
medical staff undergo when a doc-
tor does not check if his patient is
ready for an operation or come in
to see if his patient is comfortable
before or after an operation?
Nurses spend all their time on
cellphones and ignore their pa-
tients.

the hospital for comment. Ed.
Bank stel teleur
n diefstal
TELEURGESTELD IN BANK,
Bethlehem:
BETHLEMIETE, wees gewaar-
sku: Kaartbedrog kan jou as
bankklint onverwags verras.
Op 17 Desember verlede jaar
het ek n SMS op my selfoon
ontvang dat iemand pas R2 000
uit my rekening onttrek het.
Ek was verbaas en het gou
my kaart uit my beursie gehaal.
Dit was nie gesteel nie.
Ek het gewonder wie soveel
geld uit my rekening trek as
die daaglikse limiet slegs R1 000
is.
Ek het onmiddellik die
kaartafdeling van die betrokke
bank gebel en hulle van die
voorval verwittig. My kaart is
gestop.
Groot was my teleurstelling
toe ek die bankbestuurder gaan
spreek en hy vir my geen
oplossing bied nie.
Volgens hom gebeur dit maar,
en ek moet my saak maar met
die kaartafdeling bespreek.
Kaartbedrog gebeur maar?
Ek het toe gaan navorsing
doen en gevind dat die voor-
koms van kaartbedrog by die
betrokke bank die hoogste van
al die banke in Suid-Afrika is.
Dat meer geld as my daaglikse
limiet getrek is, het n verdere
gedagte by my aangewakker: Is
dit nie dalk in die bank self
waar my limiet verhoog is en
toe weer laat sak is nie? Is dit
moontlik dat iemand in die
bank met die limiet kon lol?
Ek is diep teleurgesteld in die
bank.

Onweer pootjie nie Reitz se Relay
OP Vrydag 1 Maart het die inwoners van
Reitz en omstreke op die skouterrein vir
Reitz se heel eerste Relay for Life vir
Kansa saamgetrek.
Vroegdag was dit al duidelik die weer
gaan nie saamspeel nie, en teen 17:00 het
n geweldige stormwind al die tente en
gazebos platgewaai, en daarna het die
ren begin uitsak.
Past. Johan Swart vertel: Dit was
skouterrein verskuif.
afgehandel.
kon insamel. Aan Hom al die eer.
Van my kant af: Baie dankie aan
almal van Reitz en omgewing wat
deelgeneem het.
Julle is wonderlik.
Hierdie poging was jul suksesvolle
poging. Volgende keer maak ons weer
so.

much-loved Crazy Store will be

TheCrazy Store has grown expo-
nentially over the past decade, as
customers throughout the country
flock to their stores because of the
outstanding value and product
choice offered in-store. This
achievement is possible because of
the strong relationships the Crazy
Store has built up with suppliers
across the globe over the past 15
years. Also credited for the chains
success, is the fun, relaxed atmos-
phere encountered as shoppers
step into stores.
Kevin Lennett, managing direc-
tor, says that the group is pleased
to have found another great loca-
tion in Bethlehem especially due
to the Crazy Stores overwhelming
popularity in the area already.
This new store will help expand
the growing Crazy Store brand, al-
ready with 217 stores and count-
ing. Opening a new concept store
in Bethlehem allows the Crazy
Store to bring its exciting offers to
even more people in the area.
We have been growing at a phe-
nomenal rate, opening at least two
stores every month for the past
decade. We want to bring the ex-
citement and great prices that the
Crazy Store has to offer to all those
across South Africa and beyond,
says Lennett.
New store will impress shop-

Store manager, Amelda de Ko-
ker, believes the new Crazy Store

the cent-savers, have been flocking
to the Crazy Store.
The Crazy Store offers more

new and exciting to keep your kids
occupied and entertained over the
weekend, some funky party deco-
rations, or just some colourful new
kitchen utensils, one thing is for
certain, theyll all come with great
prices, says Lennett.

ful staff and surprised by the af-
fordable prices, but also by the

THEcommunity and theDihlabeng
Mall will be in perfect harmony.
The DihlabengMall is the perfect
combination of the ideal location,
unique design and comprehensive
retail offering.
Situated in the beautiful town of
Bethlehem in the Eastern Free
State, the Dihlabeng Mall is the
first shopping centre that offers
customers a one-stop shopping ex-
perience set in a magnificent natu-
ral setting. Located on the corner of
Preekstoel Road and Paul Laesecke
Avenue, the mall is easily accessi-
ble to surrounding towns as far
afield as Ficksburg. The spectacu-
lar setting in which the mall has
been positioned creates a tranquil
and inviting shopping environ-
ment. Located directly adjacent to
the Frontier Casino, the Dihlabeng
Mall will also cater for tourists
visiting the Eastern Free State re-
gion.
Commissioned by developers, In-
vestec Property and Bethcas Prop-
erties, the mall is a welcome addi-
tion to the district. The modern na-
ture of the design compliments the
surrounding landscape and en-
hances its natural beauty. Local
sandstone and earthy tones have
been used to create a design unique
to its location. Not only has the aes-
thetics of thedesignbeen taken into
consideration, but also the func-
tional aspects that contribute to the
success of the project. A taxi drop-
off facility, as well as 1 700 land-
scaped parking bays, has been in-
corporated and inside the centre
care has been taken to allow for
easy flow of traffic.
The beautiful yet functional de-
sign of the Dihlabeng Mall affords
relaxed shopping pleasure in a ma-
jestic location.
Never before has there been such
a comprehensive retail mix availa-
ble to Bethlehem and neighbouring
towns. The 25 000 m shopping cen-
tre will comprise several national
retailers such as Game, Pick n Pay,
Checkers, Truworths, Foschini and
Edgars.
Restaurants include family fa-
vourites such as Spur, Wimpy and
Mug & Bean, an amazing first for
Bethlehem. The architects have
combined architectural excellence
with a superb retail offering and in
so doing have created a lifestyle
destination. The mall will soon ca-
ter for young and oldwith a diverse
selection of choice available under
one roof.
Not only has the project been of
substantial benefit to the communi-
ty creating various job opportuni-
ties inside the various stores, it is
creating a place for everyone to
come together and share in the ex-
citement of such an historic occa-
sion.
The Dihlabeng Mall brings with
it endless opportunities, new expe-
riences and a feeling of a communi-
ty to the town of Bethlehem.
Community, mall in harmony
DO you have a product or service
that needs more sales or aware-
ness? The DihlabengMall has vari-
ous courts available for weekly hi-
re. Court rental allows you to set up
a display and promote your busi-
ness to close to half a million visi-
tors at Dihlabeng.
An in-centre exhibition or pro-
duct demonstration is one of the
best sales tools if you have a high-
quality product. These interactive
displays assist in getting a prospec-
tive customer interested and exci-
ted about your offering. It is also an
effectiveway to address customers
specific product-related concerns.
These displays provide visual
support to enhance the quality of
your sales presentation. The abili-
ty to see, feel and sometimes smell
your product is generally more ap-
pealing to prospective buyers than
simply listening to your sales
pitch. Visitors therefore have an
opportunity to experience your
product, services, programmesand
personnel at first hand.
The Dihlabeng Mall offers out-
side companies the opportunity to
showcase their products or servi-
ces inside themall. Seven prime ex-
hibition areas have been allocated
and are available to you to hire. All
of the exhibition courts are desig-
ned to give you the best exposure
for your products and services.
Exhibitions start on a Tuesday
and end the followingMonday. Set-
up and break-down should be con-
ducted after 18:00 or before 09:00.
The height restriction in all exhibi-
tion courts is 1,5 m throughout the
mall.
Branding and displaying of the
exhibition area is the sole responsi-
bility of the exhibitor. All exhibi-
tionsmust bemanned by professio-
nal personnel.
Noplastic tables or tablecloths or
camping or garden chairs should
be utilised. We recommend office
furniture or cocktail tables.
TheDihlabengMall does not pro-
vide any exhibition material,
which include electrical cables.
Professionally printed signage
should be displayed in the exhibi-
tionareaat all times, stating thena-
me and contact details of the exhi-
bitor.
No products that are available
from any shop in the Dihlabeng
Mall may be exhibited or sold by a
temporary exhibitor. Final appro-
val of any exhibition remains the
discretion of the Dihlabeng mana-
gement, even when a court is re-
quested for less than the required
seven-day period.
Exhibitors are now able to de-
monstrate their services, products
or expertise in this simulating en-
vironment.

n sentrum heers.
hem sal tydens die openingsnaweek as in-
ligtingspersoneel optree.
eerste inkopie-ondervinding so positief en
opwindend moontlik verloop.
Die jongspan het ook ingespring om die
sentrum nog indrukwekkender te maak
met kuns wat spesiaal vir die geleentheid
geskep is.
Die Laerskool Truida Kestell, Kinder-
sorg-preprimr, asook die Preprimre
Skool Tingeling, het hard gewerk om die
eerste indruk van die sentrum spesiaal te
maak. Die handewerk van die leerlinge sal
in verskeie gebiede van die sentrum besig-
tig kan word.
Die reaksie van die gemeenskap van
Bethlehem op so n wonderlike projek is
oorweldigend.

focus on creating a lifestyle
destination tailored to the
particular needs of the residential
community that the mall will be
serving. Combining architectural
excellence with a superb retail
offering, the mall is sure to
generate ambience and a feeling
of community.
As a future meeting place, the
Dihlabeng Mall will soon be a

VRYSTAAT se Facebook-blad word
gereeld besoek en lesers s graag
daarop wat hulle dink.
Di vrae is op Facebook gestel:
Dink jy die Dihlabeng Mall-ontwik-
keling op die Preekstoelpad is n
groot bate vir Bethlehem? Waarna
sien jy van die nuwe mall uit? Jy
kan jou mening ook na sma-
[email protected] e-pos.
Karin Jordaan: Ja, ek glo dit
gaan naanwinswees.Groot, beken-
de winkels gaan beteken die dae is
verby dat jy na iets op Bethlehem
soek en dit nie kry nie. Dit beteken
mense van die Oos-Vrystaat hoef
nie Bloemfontein of Welkom toe te
ry vir lekker shopping doen nie. O,
wil open, iets pro-aktiefs. Binnens-
huise krieket- of netbalgeriewe, en-
sovoorts.
Ben Jacobs: Dit is ontwikkeling.
Kan nie nadelig wees nie, kan dit?
Yolandi Visser: Die Kines open
binnekort. Dit gaan op dieselfde
plek wees as waar dit was. Ek dink
graag sf wou sien.
Innominatum de Kat: Eks-
kuus . . . self . . . was maar haarbol
in die keel.
Sonja Swanepoel: Wonder net
wat gaan van die Metropolitan-sen-
trum word. Baie van sy ankerhuur-
ders skuif oor na die nuwe mall.
Louise Botha: Kan nie wag vir
die nuwe sentrum nie. Behalwe vir
alles onder een dak (jippie!) maak
die idee van die Heydays-klok van
Checkers Hyper my kinderlik opge-
wonde. Werkgeleenthede, ure wat
die laatslapers en -werkers gaan
pas. Miskien moet ek n babysitters
club begin wat na kiddies omsien
terwylMamma enPappa in diewin-
kels rondsnuffel? Wat dink julle?
Chantelle Cotty: Dit is vir Beth-
lehem n baie lekker uitkoms, veral
oor naweke.
Lanie Human: Vir my is dit n
eenstop-winkelsentrum en ek kan
alles op my maandlysie onder een
dak afhandel. Ek is verskriklik op-
gewondeoorCheckers enGame en
dinkdit iswaardetoevoeging tot ons
dorp. Kan nie wag vir Mugg & Bean
vir koffie en n groot muffin nie.
Adelina Mokoena: Ek sien uit
na al die nuwe winkels. Die mall is
werkskeppend en gaan aan baie
mense n werk bied.

gaan gerieflik wees, dit bring an-
kerhuurders en dit skep werkge-
leenthede.
Ook die inwonersforum se be-
stuur is opgewonde.Sulke ontwik-
kelings is n teken van vooruitgang
en beter dienste, s Danie Eich-

s hy hoop dit sal groei stimuleer

dooie kolle op die dorp ontstaan.
Anthony Oliver van die Frontier

is baie opgewonde.
Dit kan net positief wees en ek
dink dit sal baie besigheid lok.
Volgens hom sal mense nie meer
na Bloemfontein of Welkom hoef te

sal nou na Bethlehem toe ry.

Mall
set to
open
soon
Susan Mar
A GREAT shopping experience
can be expected at the Dihlabeng
Mall. This new shopping centre in
Bethlehem is on track for its
Easter weekend opening on
Thursday, 28 March.
The offering will include all the
popular retail categories associa-
ted with a development of this
scale from several popular
national retailers to various
independent outlets bringing
together a retail experience that
will cater for all the shopping
needs in a modern and compre-
hensive one-stop shopping envi-
ronment.
According to Jo-Marie Tredoux,
marketing manager of the Dihla-
beng Mall, the mall will serve its
immediate residential community,
as well as surrounding towns as
far afield as Ficksburg.
It is any enthusiastic shoppers
dream with well-known natio-
nals such as Game, Checkers, Pick
n Pay, Truworths, Foschini,
Edgars and other favourites
together under one roof.
Tredoux says the contemporary
new mall is set to provide conve-
nient, everyday shopping in a
fresh, chic environment with easy
access from the N5 and Paul
Laesecke Avenue.
The location is superb with
strong visibility, exceptional
access and magnificent natural
beauty. With spectacular views of
the majestic Rooiberg Mountains
it was designed to maximise its
unique setting in the heart of the
tranquil farming community and
next to the popular Frontier Inn &
Casino.
This superior location will
increase its popularity in the area
even more in years to come.
The architecture is modern in
nature and a warm and inviting
environment has been created
using various natural building
materials such as rock and
sandstone. Parking will be availa-
ble for 1 700 vehicles and the
centre also provides a drop-off
facility for taxis.
The shopping centre was also
designed for a smooth flow of
traffic inside, allowing its visitors
to move through the mall with
great ease.
The community is set to benefit
substantially from the variety and
economic upliftment of this
modern, comprehensive, yet
convenient retail outlet.
The mall will boost employ-
ment by providing job opportuni-
ties for shop assistants, packers,
cleaners and store managers to
local residents at one of the 50
retail outlets, once operational.
With ease of access and free
parking, the Dihlabeng Mall wil
offer the ideal shopping environ-
ment for the whole family, says
Tredoux.
