I’m sure that you see school as a boring place, where you do nothing but studying,

not having time to have fun or do other things. Nicholas sees school from a totally

different perspective. It`s a funny place where he laughs at Gil`s outfits, Eusebiu`s nose

punches or other kids` pranks. Nicholas has a lot of friends with whom he has great fun at

school and also at home.

你一定觉得学校真是没劲儿，除了学习还是学习，没有时间开心地玩儿，或

者做点儿别的事儿。而尼古拉斯一点儿也不这样认为，他觉得学校真是太有趣啦：

The night of wishes

This book is about a wizard named Beelzebub Erezinus, who lived with his cat

Maurizio, a former classical singer for cats.

On New Year`s Eve, Erezinus receives an unexpected visit from an employee of His

Satanic Highness. Few years ago, Erezinus made a contract with the Satanic Highness in

which he had promised that each year, until New Year`s Eve, he would accomplish certain

malefic requirements. Unfortunately, he didn`t have enough time to fulfil them all and he

has got an execution order, if he doesn`t complete all the tasks until the end of the night.

Surprised that The Satanic Highness doesn`t appreciate all of his work, considering that

every year he accomplished the requirements, Erezinus asks for delay , but he doesn`t get

the approval.

deformity. So, his parents decided that it would be better for him to be educated at home.

When he turned 10, his mother enrolled him in a private school.

into a group of normal kids. It`s the story of how August Pullman spent the fifth grade.

I think that this book is for all ages. It`s interesting, humorous, sensitive and it shows

us how easy we can judge someone just looking at him once.

便地去判断一个人。

Read “Wonder”, to find a lot more about Auggie’s adventures and to learn that we

don’t have the right to judge a person according to the way he looks like, but, on the

contrary, we must accept him, we must give him a chance, we must discover his hidden

qualities and the beauty of his soul.

I recommend “Stargirl” because I was assaulted by an explosion of feelings after just

reading it. I realized some things about my life and I learned to appreciate more what I

have.

我向大家推荐《星星女孩》这本书。一读到这本书，我就被一股强烈的感情征

服了；也明白了生活中的一些事情，更学会了欣赏和珍惜自己的拥有。

“Stargirl” is not just a nickname, but it also describes a unique, happy and full of life

girl. She doesn`t care what other think about her, what she thinks is more important. At

first, everybody loves her but then people leave her just because she is too different. That

doesn`t make her sad and moves on, as she knows it`s OK to be different. It hasn`t been

easy for her and we should do the same. Unfortunately, other`s opinion matters a lot to us.

“星星女孩”不只是一个昵称，同时还描绘了一个独特、快乐和充满活力的女

孩形象。她不在意别人对自己的看法，觉得自己的想法更重要。一开始，大家都很

喜欢她，可后来都离开了她，只是因为她太与众不同了。但这并没有让她难过，她

还是像以前一样，因为她知道与众不同并没有什么不对。这一切对她并不容易，我

们也应该像她一样生活。不幸的是，许多人觉得别人的看法十分重要。

Read the book and maybe you`ll think differently. For me, it worked.

The Big Friendly Giant吹梦巨人 by Roald Dahl

eating giants destroy dozens of souls every night. BFG is a big collector of dreams he

blows in the royal bedroom of England, a dream was meant to make the Queen stop the

bad giants forever. Her Highness sends the army to catch those 9 soul killers. The mission

is a success and the giants are sent in a grove of 15 m and have to eat a dreadful vegetable.

Everybody congratulates BFG and Sophie, who are considered the heroes of the world.

故事写了一个名叫苏菲的女孩，她住在孤儿院里。有天晚上，她发现一个巨人

拿着喇叭正在往孩子们的卧室里吹梦。这个友好的巨人带着苏菲来到了一个前所未

The big surprise in the end is that the true writer of the book is no one else but the Big

Friendly Giant.

life is in jeopardy. With the help of his family he succeeds to adopt Shiloh.

Flour Babies 面粉娃娃 byAnne Fine 安妮·法恩 著

“Flour Babies” by Anne Fine is a story with a strong message. This message is sent

by Mr. Cartwright for his students from X C（it should be 4C? on internet） class, who

were known for their roguery and pranks.

通过《面粉娃娃》这个故事，安妮·法恩传达了一个强有力的信息。卡特赖特

先生的四（三）班，是一群调皮捣蛋、喜欢恶作剧的孩子。这次他给孩子们安排了

一个任务。

The students received a homework which put them in a big difficulty, and they didn`t

overcome it very well. The only one who took it seriously was Simon Martin, one of the

most disobedient students in the class.

同学们被要求做一个实验，这让他们觉得很困难，也没有好好完成。唯一把这

次任务当回事儿的学生是西蒙·马丁，他是最不遵守纪律的学生中的一个。

The adventures of Simon until he finished the experiment were funny, giving the

reader interest in reading more and more adventures of our character.

The experiment of Mr. Cartwright made Simon more responsible and helped him

realize how hard it is to grow a child alone. This made him understand his mother which

who？ took care of him all by herself.

多么的困难，也使他明白了妈妈一个人照顾他是多么艰辛。

Sometimes funny, sometimes dramatic, the book is extremely emotional and marks

became a friendly girl and began to be good with William, whom she hated at first and

they didn`t get along at all. I also liked that the dinosaurus` wish to fly came true. The

Christmasaourus helped at this transformation too.

这本书打动了我，是因为最坏的女孩布伦达·佩恩也可以变得友善，能和威廉

友好相待。佩恩开始很讨厌威廉，他们很难相处。恐龙希望能够飞翔，很高兴它的
