The mission of the school• Revalidation of mild, average and severe

mentally disabled students;• Aiming to their full development, as far as

possible for the individual capabilities of each of them, in the emotional, ethical, moral and social sphere;

• Supporting the family in fulfilling its function and the collaboration with the local surroundings.;

• Preparing pupils for adult life and work.

Our pupils

Our students are at risk of social exclusion because of their mental handicap. Our school is

situated in a poor district where many unemployed people live; also some Gipsies attend to

our school. Most of our students come from disadvantaged surroundings, so the school tries

to create an inclusive, nice and safe atmosphere without violence. To achieve this ambitious

aim we usually organize meetings with specialists both for parents and children. Our

students have the possibility to eat free dinners. We also cooperate with other schools in our

city and many educational and caring institutions.

We cooperate with the church, they support our activities and we created wide partnership

In our school there are two associations: “Fantasy” and “Let’s give them the chance”. In cooperation with them we organize mid-term trips, dog-assisted-therapy, hydrotherapy, hipotherapy and other events which are famous in local area.

International cooperation

In the years 2013-2015 we realized project LLP-Comenius “The 3s’s for the 21st retury: sort, solve, succed” in cooperaration with schools Slovenia,Germany, Portugal, Finland, Ireland.
