Sun N’ Lake Improvement District Sebring,
Florida
ChallengeDue to sand and grit, wastewater treatment plant was experiencing loss of detention volume and reduced water quality
District contemplating a major capital expansion to increase functional capacity and efficiency of its 700,000 gallon per day facility
Sun N’ Lake Improvement District
ResultsPAT 949 Combination Truck and Polston Process™ pulled more than 175 cubic yards of accumulated sand from the bottom of their wastewater treatment plant – without taking the system offline.
By removing the sand, the Sun ‘n Lake Improvement District was able to indefinitely defer a potential multi-million dollar capital expansion.

gravity greater than 1.0 fall under pressure
o All sand, grit, rag material stay in the tanko Bio-solids and water return to the sourceo Closed loop system: uses inline water
The Polston AdvantageCity of Branford: Restored design capacity, saved $50k in fines by eliminated solids being released putting the plant in compliance, and preventing further EPA issues.
Sun N’ Lake: restored design capacity = delayed multi-million dollar improvement project indefinitely
Tampa Desalination Facility: removed more than 100 cubic yards material in LESS THAN 1/3 cost and 1/10 time than the last time grit removal was required
