Hello! I’m Saawan and this is my portfolio. Currently, I’m pursuing my post graduation in Visual Communication. I’m interested in Graphic Design. My areas of interest are corporate identity, web design, illustration, typography and print media.

ABOUT

SERENUSlogo design

is is a logo for a company that deals with school kids and their studies. e client wanted the catapult to be shown in the logo. I made the logo playful by using the catapult as the stem of a tree and depicting the strap as a swing. As the company focuses on reducing the burden of studies borne by a school going kid, this logo aptly represents their mission statement.

is is a logo for a fashion label. It is currently under sale at IncSpring. e colors used in the logo can be easily used for extending the brand’s visual appeal on its collateral. You can see how the colors are used in making a brochure for the brand ‘Intrigue’ in Print section of this portfolio.

Tingle is an abstract cartoon character. I love designing characters and I do it very often. Tingle is a simple character I enjoy drawing. It has humor woven into its very personality and the first illustration, Tingle with a boombox, is a tribute to the ubiquitous hip-hop culture.

is is a character based on Indian sadhus/ sanyasis. I named this character as ‘Choomantar Swaami’. Again, this character is used in a humorous plotline. Gyan means wisdom in Sanskrit. Choomantar Swaami gives out his wisdom to the world, which is very naive and funny.

is is the caricature of the director of my alma mater, BITS-Pilani - Dr. L. K. Maheshwari. I drew this caricature in Flash using a tablet.

is, again, is a college assignment. We had to design and execute a mock website for a chosen brand. I chose Reebok and built a website for the brand. Although Reebok’s original site uses Flash throughout, the challenge was to design the site both in HTML and Flash. I was really surprised when somebody thought that this was real Reebok website and left feedback about her newly bought Reebok shoes!

I created this website for one of my professors in BITS-Pilani. I had to make sure that the site is simple and attractive and at the same time avoid being jazzy and over-the-top. e pattern used behind emphasizes elegance. A professional script font has been used to show the professor’s name. e quotations used are Dr. Sangeeta Sharma’s own which make an impact of her own on the visitor. e buttons are placed in such a way that they highlight the credentials of the professor. e chosen color palette is subtle and makes its own mark.

e above two logos manifest my penchant for typography. ese two logos have been hand crafted from scratch. I believe typography is one of the important elements of Graphic Design. I have an avid interest in it and I’m looking forward to creating my own fonts.
