Thomas Cziesla
Senior Support and Training Engineer Germany and German Speaking Countries
Thomas is a qualified HVAC engineer with focus on building control systems. After one year of self-employment, he started to work at Honeywell. During the last 15 years he had several positions within the company. As a project engineer for major projects he has gained many experiences and could apply these as a project manager. Additionally, he was involved in the technical support team as a specialist for LON and BACnet-Networks, engineering tools and controller hardware. As Team Leader of the German Engineering team, he was also part of the Global Library team to build a common global standard engineering library. Over the years his favorite task was to develop building optimization applications for air handling units and chiller management to reduce the energy consumption without reducing the comfort. Thomas joined Distech Controls SAS in April 2013 as Senior Support and Training Engineer for Germany and German Speaking Countries.

Administration & Sales Assistant
Pia Thaves has a Danish Bachelor Degree in English, French and International Marketing and is fluent in Danish, English and French. With more than 10 years of experience in France as administrative and sales assistant within the industrial market, Pia Thaves joined Distech
Controls in March 2013 in order to assist our Customer Service and international sales team. Responding to customer needs and queries and assisting the management are also part of her missions with Distech Controls.

Marjolaine has joined Distech Controls SAS in June 2013 as Administration & Sales Assistant. Graduated of International Trade and Chinese language, Marjolaine Caffier has worked internationally during several years within Purchasing Department for different sectors. In order to improve her understanding of commercial department global functioning, she decided to put her experience in the
service of customers and joined Distech Controls to reinforce the Customers Service.

Distech Controls reminds you that its new ECB and ECL 50 Series BACnet® and LONWORKS® controllers with
integrated LCD operator interface are available since March 2013. This new series of controllers with live graphics colour display is a powerful, user-friendly, and time-saving solution that provides technicians and managers with convenient access to important system data in real time. Hydro Office Building in Oslo - Norway A new, state-of-the-art Building Management System (BMS) from Distech Controls is making a major contribution towards improving indoor climate quality at a refurbished office block in Oslo. Provided by system integrator SD-Consult from Norway, the new control system is also helping to dramatically reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions for the building’s tenants. The building is undergoing a total retrofit with eight new air handling units installed, as well as an upgrade of the Building Management System (BMS) to include an energy management program. The Hydro-owned 60,000m² office building, featuring a complete meeting centre with 22 meetings rooms, required a control system that could be quickly installed to meet demanding project timescales. The system also needed to be easy to use, incorporating optimiser functions and smartphone capabilities. “There were tight deadlines we had to meet on this project as everything needed to be done before the customer moved in” comments Erik Nordli of SD-Consult. “Thanks to Distech Controls, the installation process was incredibly simple and swift. It just worked perfectly first time and, with no time to test or check for errors, that was extremely important.” To read more, please click here. Distech Controls provided:

Distech Controls’ New References
Torre della Comunicazione in Pollein - Italy The Torre della Comunicazione building hosts the computer data center and the technological systems of the Aosta Region in Italy, as well as the new offices of the Inva company. Its construction completed the renewing of the Pollein-Brissogne autoport area. Its surface offers 5000 m
2 of offices, data center rooms, conference rooms and a bar
restaurant. The project aimed at providing to the Aosta Region a modern and energy efficient building, also able to host the specific environment required for a data center. The lighting system was specified entirely in DALI technology and it was decided to equip the building with a Building Management System offering a single Human Interface for the HVAC and the Lighting equipment. The solution offered The lighting system is using the DALI technology: DALI controllers drive 8 light groups each from presence and lux level information provided by multi-sensors. The multi-sensors are connected to the controllers which are distributed in the ceilings. The temperature control is performed by fan coil controllers. Both lights and fan coil controllers are manually controlled by wireless infrared remote controllers also measuring the room temperature. Web servers acquire the controllers data through a LON network and interface with the IP network. The Supervisor on the PC provides a single HMI. Distech Controls provided all the controllers needed for the project:

Distech Controls welcomes new investors
Samsung Ventures with the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ), Export Development Canada (EDC), EnerTech Capital, Fonds de solidarité FTQ, W2 Investments, announced a total investment of $38-million (CAD) in Distech Controls. They join Distech Controls’ existing group of investors and founder, President and CEO of Distech Controls Inc, Etienne Veilleux, as shareholders. The investment will expand Distech Controls’ capital base and the proceeds of this financing will be used to accelerate the company’s growth plan and development roadmap worldwide, including acquisitions.
