ICE AGE
INTRODUCTION
International Cultural Group new traveling exhibition, Ice Age, "The Kingdom of Mammoths" explores the lives of the enigmatic fauna on the last Ice Age period when extensive ice sheets cover the Earth‘s surfaceContinental fauna was essentially much impressive than today and many animals, specifically mammals were much bigger than we know from their the modern relatives today.
The severe climatic changes, reduction of temperature and accumulation of ice during the ice age had major impacts on the fauna and flora. The most severe stress resulted from drastic climatic changes, reduced living space and food supply. A mayor extinction event of large mammals, (megafauna), which included mammoths, mastodons, saber-toothed cats, glyptodons, cave bears, Irish elk and others, began late in the Pleistocene and continued into the Holocene. Neanderthals also became extinct during this period. At the end of the last ice age, cold-blooded animals, smaller mammals migratory birds, and swifter animals had replaced the megafauna.
Ice Age, The Kingdom of Mammoths point focus on the environment and the habits of those huge animals appealing to visitors of all ages, this exhibition will especially fascinate family audiences by touching into their spirit of curiosity about the Earth today and its ancient past.
Ice Age, The Kingdom of Mammoths is a projet made by International Cultural Group with colaboration of The Natural History Museum of Belgrade and The Natural History Museum of Budapest
