I have been home for about four months now and things have been mov- ing forward with both the human trafficking ministry as well as our outreaches to the brothels and the “red light” area here in Perth. Our base pur- chased a property this last year and there has been a lot of construction hap- pening down the street. We are so excited to have an inheritance here in Perth and a place to officially call our home. We are just transitioning into a new quarter of training for stu- dents around the world and it is such fun to meet some new people. Life in Perth We have been reaching out to about 6 different brothels in our area and I am amazed at the favor we have been granted going into them. At one of the brothels I went into most recently, the owner opened his doors and said how much they enjoyed YWAMers coming to visit with the girls. God has been speaking about asking Him for favor to enter the brothels and seeing if we can build relationships with the girls so we can meet with them out- side their work environment. Just this last week, one of my teammates and I met up with one of the girls at a café and she shared for the first time in her life how she entered into prostitu- tion and what was keeping her there. We were able to speak truth and see God touch her life as she was moved to tears. She wants to meet again soon and I am asking God for a multiplication of this situation with other girls. God has been speaking to me that our role is not to go into the brothels and save the girls...He is the one who saves. Our role is to lavish love on them and redeem their view of God and His people. One of the women I was having a conversation with, shared that a “religious” man was “using” her one time and at the same time telling her how disgusting and depraved she was. This is their experience of people who call themselves Christians, and it breaks my heart. I want them to know that God’s character is nothing like that. His heart is broken over their situation and this is not His will and destiny for their lives. Please pray for us as we continue to sort out what our brothel ministry is going to fully look like and continue to develop and grow the ministry. We have also been heading out to meet up with “street walkers” (women in prostitution on the streets) in our area. Our base just so happens to be located near the redlight district, which makes it convenient to minister to the ladies and men coming there. Over the last few months I really had it on my heart to begin reaching out to the “johns” (men purchasing sex) on the strip. We would be approached by men who thought we were working and I wanted to encourage my team to take the opportunity to love on these men and share truth with them. Some of the conversations we have had with them have been amazing. They are so broken, lonely and seeking. Hey Guys! It’s time to let you know what’s

going on here in Perth, Australia. I have been home

for about four months now and things have been mov-

ing forward with both the human trafficking ministry as

well as our outreaches to the brothels and the “red

chased a property this last year and there

pening down the street. We are so

excited to have an inheritance here

our home. We are just transitioning

We have been reaching out to about 6 different brothels in our area and I am amazed at the favor we have been granted going into them. At one of the brothels I went into most recently, the owner opened his doors and said how much they enjoyed YWAMers coming to visit with the girls. Once Again, thank you for your love and support so that I can be working as a missionary and serving out of Perth. I am so grateful, Amy [email protected]

All of our April Quarter Schools have just left on Out-

reach. A few weeks ago all of our January Quarter

Schools returned from their outreaches! 140 staff and stu-

dents to 21 different Nations-Praise God for all He has done

through them!

April Quarter Schools that left on Outreach:

*April Discipleship Training School (DTS)

*Surf and Skate DTS

*Media Reach DTS

*Children at Risk School

*Advanced Community Counseling School

About two months ago I was asked to help staff a Practical Services Camp for 8th

graders at a school a couple of hours away from Perth. It was very long days of

weeding, cleaning, painting, etc at different community projects in the city. In the

evenings we would have teaching times and a time of sharing for the students. It

was challenging and long days (starting at 6am and finishing at 9pm!!), but we saw a

lot of fruit in the students lives, as around 30 of them gave their lives to Jesus for

the first time or rededicated their lives. Many of them have already been through

such painful things in their lives, even though they are so young and it was wonder-

ful to take time to counsel and walk them through some of those situations. I feel so

honored that young people would entrust their stories to us. It is amazingly brave to

share your pain with another person and I was so grateful for their transparency. I

definitely look forward to seeing some of them again in the future.

Staffing A Youth Service Camp

So, as most of you know by now, the major focus of ministry for me is

in the area of combatting Human Slavery. Since being in Perth, I have

been helping to set up our Counter-Human Slavery Ministry. Our fo-

cuses will involve different strategies such as advocacy, prevention,

direct care, education, and investigation, both locally in Western Aus-

tralia, as well as internationally. There is still so much to be set up, but

we are moving forward and I am so anxious (in a good way :) to see

where God takes us. One of the main challenges for me in this minis-

try is not to be impatient and jump the gun and at the same time to push for

things to happen. I really want to be a woman who hears the word of the

Lord and obeys, but it is easy for me to walk in independence. I am blessed

to have a leader who is incredibly patient and a bit more cautious that I am :)

Please pray that we will have incredible amounts of God’s wisdom in us as

we move forward. I really want this ministry to look like and function how

God wills it to.

the guys as well as the “working ladies” are open to sharing their story and re-ceiving prayer. One of the guys even said He would come to a church that had people like us there. PLEASE pray for continued favor in the brothels and on the street. We know that the reason we are able to minister into this area is because the hand of God is moving, and He is opening doors for us.

I need to

go on a

visa run

in Sep-

tember so that I can stay in Australia

for the next two years. So, I thought

it would be good to double it as a

counter-human slavery outreach to a

hotspot for human trafficking. We

have been researching and preparing

for a trip to the Thai-Burma border as

well as possibly the Thai-Laos bor-

der. It is all being processed and

prayed about right now, but I wanted

to let you know what is coming up. I

am so excited, as this is the very

thing that God has been preparing me

for during this last year. We are

looking at joining with various or-

ganizations working on the border

and teaching in rural communities on

how to protect themselves from being

trafficked. I am not sure how every-

thing will come together, but I have

about two months to prepare! Please

pray for us as we get ready to go into

some of the more unstable areas of

SE Asia.

Report from our Birth Attendant School (BAS)

BAS 2010 just arrived back in town about a month ago after

traveling to Tanzania, India and Bangladesh (it is a 9 month

school). They gave health care to 4,807 people, shared the

Gospel with 907 people and saw God raise 7 babies from the

dead in Jesus’ name (this means that the baies were born

without a heartbeat and as they prayed and tried to resusci-

tate the baby, it came back to life). They even had a muslim

doctor begin to pray in Jesus’ name for babies to come back

to life :). This year they delivered their 3,000th baby in nations

greatly in need of midwives.

staff there are at YWAM Perth...
