DIVISION
It is a situation that plays itself out in more and less signifi-cant ways: Christians divided.
A CYO basketball game between two neighboring parishes. Parents of the young players scream insults and threats at one another and assert their “superiority.”
A Protestant and a Catholic church sit on ad-joining properties. Each is vigilant about having parking violators removed from its own “private” parking lot.
An old pastor retires but continues to reside at the parish. A new pastor arrives and quickly finds his faith “community” choosing sides against him.
Saint Paul addresses similar disagreements in the early church at Corinth. He encourages the church there to make up their differences and to be united again in their belief and practice.
Today’s first reading from Isaiah speaks of a people weighed down by the yoke of sin and darkness. Certainly the
bickering and differences among us can be classified as such. The Gospel tells of the beginning ministry of Jesus. The Light
has come, encouraging us to “repent, for the kingdom of

Un juego de baloncesto de la CYO pone a dos equipos de pa-rroquias vecinas en oposición. Los padres de los jóvenes que

Una iglesia protestante y una católica están en propiedades aledañas. Cada una está alerta para remover a los que se estacionan violando las seña-les “privadas” de dónde estacionar.
Un pastor de avanzada edad se jubila y permane-ce como párroco emérito residente en su parroquia.
Un nuevo párroco toma su lugar y muy pronto se entera de que su “comunidad” de fe no está de acuerdo con sus decisiones.
San Pablo se enfrenta a desacuerdos similares que ocurrían en la iglesia joven de Corinto. Él los anima a que se pongan de acuerdo y a que vivan unidos en el mismo pensar y sentir.
La primera lectura de hoy tomada del profeta Isaías habla de un pueblo agobiado por el peso del pecado y la oscuridad. Cier-tamente las disputas y diferencias entre nosotros se pueden catalogar así. Last Day to Register – This Sunday, 26 January Kindergarten (5 yrs) and First to Sixth Grade
If your child is not in a Catholic school, he/she should be in a Religious Education Program. As we begin the New Year, we open our classes to new students through Janu-ary. Forms to register your child in our religious education program can be obtained on the table in the vestibule or at the Parish office during regular business hours. Classes start on Sundays at 11:15 AM and end at 12:45 PM.
If you are already registered you don't need to register again. For more information please contact Becki at 795 1633 ext 104.

Las formas para inscribir a su niña/o en nuestro programa de educación religiosa se pueden obtener en la mesa del vestíbulo o en la oficina parroquial durante el horario regular de la misma. Las clases empezarán los domingos a las 11:15 AM, y terminarán
a las 12:45 PM.

In Observance of National Migration Week
Our parish will observe this annual week through the month of January with two different activities.
Last Days for Socks for Blistered Feet
One of the outreach actions of the Kino Border Initia-tive and No More Deaths organization is to provide migrants with white socks. This helps to contain any infection from the blisters on their feet. During the month of January, which began with an observation of National Migration Week, we will have a box in the vesti-bule for donations if you would be willing to help.
A Journey for Justice
This Sunday, 26 January
Our parish will lead a pilgrimage in solidar-ity with migrants, immigrants and refu-gees at the San Pedro Chapel (5230 E. Fort Lowell Road – between N. Swan & N. Craycroft) this Sunday, 26 January.
There are two starting options for the pilgrimage:
Start Option A: 2:00 PM – Journey to the Chapel along the Rillito River Walk beginning at the Swan Road parking area.
Start Option B: 3:00 PM – Journey to the Chapel from the shrine located on the chapel property.
Meeting together at the shrine on the Chapel property, pilgrims of both groups will process to several stations join-ing in prayerful solidarity with those who seek a better life for themselves and their families. The procession and prayer together will culminate in the San Pedro Chapel – a place of worship built to provide spiritual care for migrant workers.

Últimos Días para Calcetines Para Pies Cansados
Una de las Obras de Kino Border Initiative y la Organización No Más Muertes (No More Deaths) regalará calcetines blancos. Esto ayuda a prevenir posibles infecciones por las ampollas en los pies de los migrantes. Durante el mes de enero, que empezó con la Semana Nacional del Migrante, tendremos una caja en el vestíbulo
de la iglesia para recibir sus donativos, por si ustedes deseen participar en esta iniciativa.
Un viaje por la Justicia
Este Domingo, 26 de enero
Este domingo 26 de enero, nuestra parroquia estará al frente de una peregrinación en solidaridad con los migrantes, inmigrantes y refu-giados, en la Capilla de San Pedro (5230 E. Fort Lowell Road – entre N. Swan & N. Craycroft).
Hay dos opciones para iniciar la peregrinación:
Empezando la Opción A: las 2:00 PM – Viaje a la capilla a lo largo del río Rillito caminando a partir de la zona de aparcamiento de la calle Swan.
Empezando la Opción B: las 3:00 PM – Viaje a la Capilla del santuario ubicado en la propiedad de la capilla.
Reunidos en la capilla del santuario en la propiedad, los peregrinos de ambos grupos procederán a varias es-taciones unidos en solidaridad orante con los que buscan una vida mejor para ellos y sus familias. La procesión y la oración juntas culminarán en la Capilla de San Pedro – un lugar de culto construido para proporcionar cuidado espiritual para los trabajadores migrantes.

Catholic Schools Week is the week during the school year that ALL Catholic schools, nationwide, celebrate who we are. The sharing of faith with our future lead-ers is so important today. Our world is wrought with so many things askew that the ability to have one's children in a faith filled environment is such a blessing. During Catholic Schools Week, St. Cyril School celebrates all our shareholders with special celebrations and our annual Book Fair. The follow-ing is a list of our celebrations:
26 January...Students will participate in the 8 AM and 10 AM Masses. Donuts and coffee will be served after Masses. We will swing open our doors to our parishioners and commu-nity members from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Come by and feel the magic of YOUR parish school. Meet our fabulous faculty and staff.
27 January...Student Appreciation Day. Students will be treated to a pancake breakfast and allowed to wear their PJ's on that day.
28 January...Visitation Day. Do you know any family that might be interested in learning more about our school? Invite them to our visitation day. They will hear a presentation and then taken on a tour of the school. They are welcome to talk with students and faculty/staff about their experiences at the school.
29 January...Parent Appreciation Day. Parents will join us for breakfast and then head to the child's classrooms to "be a stu-dent for 2 hours."
30 January...Grandparent Day. Grandparents join their grand-children for Mass. After Mass grandparents enjoy a breakfast and then they head to the grandchildren's classrooms for fun and frolic.
1 February...Staff Appreciation Day. Students honor our faculty/staff in may ways. The day will begin with accolades and end with a special surprise.

La Semana de Escuelas Católicas es la semana durante el año escolar en que TODAS las escuelas católicas, a nivel na-cional, celebramos lo que somos. El compartir la fe con nuestros futuros líderes hoy en día, es muy importante. Nuestro mundo está forjado con tantos errores que es una bendición el poder tener a nuestros hijos en un entorno lleno de fe. Durante la Semana de las Escuelas Católicas, la Es-cuela de San Cirilo agradece a todos nuestros participantes con celebraciones especiales y nuestra Feria Anual del Libro. A continuación está una lista de nuestras celebraciones:
26 de enero...después de las misas se servirán Donas y café. Nosotros le abriremos las puertas a nuestros feligreses y miembros de la comunidad de 11:00 AM a 1:00 PM. Venga y sienta la magia de SU escuela parroquial. Conozca a nuestro fabuloso personal docente y administrativo.
27 de enero...Día de Apreciar a los Estudiantes. Los estudiantes po-drán disfrutar de un desayuno de panqueques y en ese día se les permite llevar su pijamas.
28 de enero...Día de Visita. ¿Conoces alguna familia que podría estar interesado en aprender más acerca de nuestra escuela? Invítelos a nuestro día de visitas. Ellos escucharán una presentación y luego se les dará un paseo por la escuela. Son bienvenidos a hablar con los estudiantes y profesores/personal administrativo sobre sus experien-cias en la escuela.
29 de enero...Día de Agradecimiento a los Padres. Los padres se unirán a nosotros para el desayuno y luego irán a los salones de clase del niño a "ser estudiantes durante 2 horas."
30 de enero...el día de los Abuelos. Los Abuelos se unen a sus nietos para la Misa. Después de la Misa se sirve un desayuno y luego se dirigen a las aulas de los nietos para su diversión y la fiesta.
01 de febrero...Día de Apreciación al Personal. Los Estudiantes hon-ran al profesorado/y al personal en muchas formas. La jornada comenzará con elogios y terminará con una sorpresa especial.

Ministry Certification: Level 1 (in Spanish) February through November
This program is designed to prepare people to carry out minis-terial functions at their parishes. This is the broadest of all the formation programs that the Office of Hispanic Ministry offers in Spanish at the diocesan level. The program offers opportunities for the spiritual devel-opment of each person. At the same time it provides the knowledge and skills for many pastoral ministries. It pro-vides a general education for ministry, which covers a broad scale of evangelization areas such as: Spiritual For-mation, Scripture, Principles of Theology, Liturgy and Sac-raments, Christian Morality, and Methodology. This course also strives to answer questions that Catholics frequently have. Two of the six day-long Saturday sessions will take place at St. Cyril’s. Marian Plaza Nearing Completion: Thank you to all who have contributed to our Marian Plaza by sponsoring the shrine, a portion of the back wall, a bench, one of the flower bed seats and the many pavers (bricks). Many parishioners and visitors have commented on what a beautiful space it is.
The final phase is the engraving of the various items which is in process. We still have items available for sponsorship: flower bed seats ($1,000), pavers (8 x 8 special placement at $250 or general placement at $200 and 4 x 8 at $100). Once the current engraving is finished, the cost for these items will go up so, don’t delay in sponsoring one of the items at this price. To be a sponsor, contact Mary Ann at the parish office.

JobPath is a non-profit workforce development organization that sponsors unemployed and underemployed low income adult residents of Tucson/Pima County in long-term education and job training opportunities.
JobPath works with employers in our community to identify career areas where there is a current or projected demand for skilled workers.
JobPath acts as a bridge between participants, Pima Commu-nity College, workforce development organizations, and the business community.
JobPath is offering a session at which it will provide infor-mation about opportunities in the community for education and job training on 15 Febru-ary from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the El Pueblo Regional Center (101 W. Saturday 15 February Our Hispanic Young Adults at the parish will host a dinner-dance in honor of Saint Valentine's day. This event will take place in Nicholson Hall, on Satur-day 15 February beginning at 6:30 PM. There will be a $20 fee per person.
