WE ARE TO BE TRANSFORMED
Today’s showing forth of God’s glory is filled with a light that astonishes and reveals. Jesus transfigured on Mount Tabor energizes even the sleepy apostles, who see but cannot get hold of it. They can be forgiven for not apprehending the full mean-ing of this extraordinary vi-sion of a transfigured Jesus with Elijah and Moses. The whole of the Law and prophets is summed up here on this mountain.
The transfiguration on Mount Tabor is handed over to
us this Sunday. As Paul reminds us, it is we who are to be transformed. The light and life of the Resurrection are set forth here so we do not lose heart and fall en-tirely asleep. This Sunday looks to Easter. It looks to transformation. It asks us to lift up our heads and ac-knowledge the risen Lord as our light and our salvation. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

La manifestación de la Gloria de Dios en el Evangelio de hoy está llena de una luz que a la vez asombra y revela. Jesús, transfigu-rado en el Monte Tabor, llena de su energía a los apóstoles adorme-cidos, que ven la visión, pero no la saben captar. Es perdonable que no capten del todo el significado de esta extraordinaria visión de Jesús transfigurado, entre Moisés y Elías. Aquí, en el monte santo, se resumen la Ley y los profetas.
Hoy esa transfiguración se nos ofrece y se nos entrega. Co-mo nos recuerda san Pablo, somos nosotros los que vamos a
ser transformados. Hoy se nos presentan la luz y la vida de la Resurrección, para que no nos descorazonemos, no sea que nos quedemos del todo dormidos. Este domingo ya mira hacia la Pascua. Living Stations of the Cross

Carmelite Seminaries Collection
Next Weekend Our Carmelite Province is currently funding the for-mation and education of 45 seminarians who are in one of four phases of the formation process.
The first phase is Pre-novitiate which lasts from 1 to 4 years as our students continue a discernment process while complet-ing their philosophy studies and/or undergraduate degree. No-vitiate is the second phase – a year and a day of living and learning our Carmelite charism, tradition and history. The third and fourth phases blend together over a 6-year period. There are their theological studies – 4 years of graduate work in the-ology and pastoral formation – and Internship (usually lasting 2 years, placed within the 4 years of theological studies) during which our students live in one of our communities and serve in the school, parish or retreat center ministry of that community.
Our Province funds all four levels of formation. Each year, we ask those whom we serve to contribute to the support of our seminaries. In parishes this is done through a second collec-tion. Next weekend we will take up this annual collection in our parish. Thank you in advance for sharing in our efforts to form Carmelites for the future.

El Próximo Fin de Semana Nuestra Provincia carmelita está financiando actualmente la formación y la educación de 45 seminaristas que están en una de las cuatro fases del proceso de formación.
La primera fase es Prenoviciado que dura de 1 a 4 años ya que nuestros estudiantes siguen un proceso de discernimiento mientras completan sus estudios de filosofía y/o título de grado. El Noviciado es la segunda fase – un año y un día de vida y el aprendizaje de nuestro carisma carmelita, la tradición y la historia. Las fases tercera y cuarta se mezclan durante un periodo de 6 años. Existen sus estu-dios teológicos – 4 años de trabajo de graduado en teología y forma-ción pastoral – y prácticas (por lo general duran 2 años, dentro de los 4 años de estudios teológicos) durante los cuales, nuestros estudian-tes viven en una de nuestras comunidades y sirven en la escuela, parroquia o el ministerio del centro de retiro de esa comunidad.
Nuestra Provincia financia los cuatro niveles de formación. Cada año, se pide a los que servimos que contribuyan al apoyo de nuestros seminarios. En las parroquias esto se hace a través de una segunda colecta. La próxima semana efectuaremos esta colecta anual en nues-tra parroquia. Gracias de antemano por compartir en nuestros esfuer-zos para formar Carmelitas para el futuro.
Este mes practicaremos la Misericordia de Dios hacia los estudiantes sin hogar en colaboración con Youth on Their Own (Juventud por su cuenta). Siem-pre están en necesidad de productos de cuidado personal de tamaño regu-lar:
Productos de higiene femenina Desodorante Rastrillos Crema de afeitar de lavado Jabón de cuerpo Champú y acondicio-nador Papel higiénico; así como ropa interior nueva (tamaños para jóvenes del 13–21 años de edad ): Ropa interior femenina Bóxers para hombres (no trusa) y camisetas Calcetines (tobillo corto, para zapatos deportivos) Sostenes (todos los tamaños y estilos).
Usted puede colocar estos artículos donados en la canasta en nuestra mesa de Misericordia en la parte posterior de la iglesia a lo largo del mes de febrero.
Our Corporal Work of Mercy for February Shelter the homeless
This month, let us show God’s mercy to homeless students by collaborating with Youth on Their Own. They are always in need of regular size personal care products:
Feminine hygiene products Deodorant Razors Shaving cream Body wash/soap Shampoo and conditioner Toilet Paper; as well as new undergarments (sizes to fit 13–21 year olds): Ladies underwear Men’s boxers (no briefs, please) and t-shirts Socks (short/ankle, to wear with athletic shoes) Bras (all sizes and styles).
You may place these donated items in the basket at our Mercy Center in the back of church throughout the month of February.

It is time once again for our current volunteers to review the training material and sign the Annual Attestation State-ment. All high responsibility volunteers must attend a train-ing session every fiscal year (1 July – 30 June). Also, low responsibility volunteers who did not attend last year must attend training this year. If you have not already attended a training since 1 July 2015 or are a new volunteer, please join us for one of the following sessions:

Children in Kindergarten (5 years old) – 8th grade meet on Sundays from 11:15 AM until 12:45 PM.
First Communion preparation continues through the month of April for children who have completed First Reconciliation preparation in 2015. A child preparing for a Sacrament must attend all preparation classes. Multiple absences can prevent a child from receiving their Sacrament in the same school year.

These last 5 ticketholders MUST agree to split or “go all the way”. If just 1 ticketholder wants to remain till the
end, ALL must remain till the end.
