Message from the President Tabor 100 will once again be staging

its Annual Captains of Industry Gala

on Friday, September 15th, at the

Seattle Waterfront Marriott. The 18th

Annual Gala will be one of our best.

Governor Jay Inslee will be part of our

distinguished panel, which will be moderated by

Shaunta Hyde, Managing Director, Community

Relations Alaska Airlines.

This year’s theme is “Shaping Our Destiny”. We

anticipate approximately 500 business

stakeholders, legislators and friends attending

this year’s event and we look forward to seeing

you there too. Your presence, along with our

distinguished guests, gives everyone a better

perspective of what Tabor is and why it is I

important. It is at times the first step in creating a

new relationship, and other times, it is the

deepening of long-standing relationships.

The proceeds from Tabor 100’s gala are used to

support:

• Tabor 100’s scholarship and grant programs.

• Events produced by Tabor 100 to assist its

business members with connecting with

public and private entities statewide. In

addition, the annual gala helps support Tabor

100’s mission and volunteer activities.

• The annual “Crystal Eagle” awards

ceremony. Tabor 100’s gala serves as a

platform to provide individual recognition to

people whose service exemplifies the

mission of Tabor 100.

With your support and participation in Tabor

100, we will remain poised to strategically and

positively impact the growth of Washington’s

small and diverse businesses. Your support

allows us to continue being the voice and the

advocates of the communities we serve. It

allows us to continue delivering valuable

services and resources to our members; and to

be a valued constituent representative in our

community’s civic affairs. With your help, we

can continue to do this great work. We would be

honored to have you as a Table Captain or a

Sponsor at our annual gala. Sponsorship of the

gala is a wonderful way to show your support of

Tabor 100’s mission.

A Special note to small and diverse businesses:

I urge you to engage with Tabor 100. The

benefits can be significant for your business

and membership is just the beginning. You

must also seek out and identify those who will

make your business stronger and help it grow.

Tabor has served as the platform for many

successful businesses. The next should be

yours!

Congratulations to the 2017 Tabor 100 Crystal Eagle Awardees

We are pleased to present to you our 2017

Crystal Eagle Award winners that are to be

honored at the Gala.

This year's recipients are as diverse as the

Community we serve. We recognize the common

thread binding all these outstanding recipients-

courage, advocacy and an unwavering passion for

equity and access. They each have walked their

talk at huge professional and personal sacrifice.

We honor and thank them.

Lifetime Achievement:

Judge Richard Jones, United States District Court

Western District of Washington

His commitment to fairness and equity is

unsurpassed. In accepting this award Judge Jones

said: “Your recognition will serve as a powerful

reminder to me of the challenges before me and the

pathways I create with my duties as a judge.”

Economic Development: Lance Lyttle, Port of Seattle Managing Director,

Aviation Division Lance came to Seattle less than 2 years ago,

yet has changed the dynamic at Sea-Tac.

From day one, he has worked tirelessly to

provide more opportunity for minority business

in concessions and contracting.

Excellence in Public Service: Mayor Marilyn Strickland, City of Tacoma

We honored her previously, but this is her final

year as Mayor and we want to reinforce our

support of her and send a strong message that her

leadership is a template for those who follow her.
