Abstract
The Social Workers’ Recognition and Obligation of Code of Ethics for Social Work Practice
This study aims to explore the extent of social worker’s recognition
and obligation of Code of Ethics for social work practice published by
National Association of Social Workers (NASW). Two hundred thirty
social practitioners (133 males and 97 females) from medical, social,
and educational settings were administered a standardized
questionnaire to investigate the relationships between study
variables. Raw data was manipulated via descriptive and inferential
statistics. Results have shown a positive weak relationship between
the extent of social workers’ recognition of code of ethics and their
obligation through practice. The multiple regression results showed a
predictive model of 58% to assign the extent of code of ethic’s
obligation. The study results can be used to develop working
procedures to promote social work practice outcomes.
Keywords: Social work code of ethics, professional values of social
work practice.
