LA ANUNCIACIONCon este domingo estamos ya muy cercade Navidad: dentro de poco vamos a cele-brar el nacimiento de nuestro Dios en me-dio de nosotros. Al final de este tiempo deespera, la Iglesia quiere presentarnos, unavezmdq esa gran figura de adviento que esla Santa Virgen Maria.

La prirnera lecfura de hoy nos recuerda las pro-

mesas de Dios a David. A partir de alli, toda la historiadel pueblo elegido gira en torno a estas grandes promesas.Pero en el tiempo de Maria queda s6lo un pequeflo restode personas que mantiene viva esa fe expectante. La San-ta Virgen no s6lo forma parte de este grupo fiel, sino que

es, a la vez, su centro y su culminaci6n.En la Anunciaci6n ha llegado, por fin, esa hora

que fue anunciada por los profetas y que el pueblo espera-ba desde hacia siglos. El encuentro del 6ngel con Mariaresulta uno de los momentos m6s grandes de la historia deIsrael y de toda la humanidad. Esta historia pasa ahora por

Ella, depende de Ella, culmina en Ella pero en provechode todos.
