Launched in 2004, Sameway moved on as part of the Rejoice ministry in 2005. On one hand we hoped Rejoice could take the lead in achieving the magazine s community goal through gathering more Christians effort in serving the community. On the other hand we also hoped we could mobilise more resources and support from churches and Christians for Sameway.
Eight years on, our goal to serve the community and to provide a good quality life publication has been widely accepted and appreciated. Sameway has contributed much community charity and care projects through our long term rapport with various community organisations. All along we hold on to our publication principle of attending to the interests of immigrants coming from different places of origin and life background with a view to integrating them with the main stream society. In the bigger context we insist not to make Sameway a pure religious publication, thus appealing to various sectors of the society.
Over the years we have been encountering much difficulty in our operating cost; we have been barely viable through the commitment and physical sacrifice of our staff and co-workers. Despite such hardship we were still able to extend our coverage from Melbourne to the other national cities; God s grace and guidance have been so obvious. Through the national publication, Sameway has achieved the goal of rallying Christians in serving the community.
For more than two years of global recession, we could merely keep down our deficit. But the financial hardship is prompting us for an even tighter budget management. After prolong consideration, Rejoice has decided to let Creative Plus Pty take charge of the Sameway operation commencing 1st July. We hope the move can induce more resource and support as well as to better develop the advertisement marketing. Apart from this change, the other usual management and operation of the publication will remain unchanged while Rejoice will still be partnering with Sameway in serving the Chinese community.
I hope the independent running of Sameway can bring upon more room and support; I hope our supporters would continue to provide encouragement for us to bring blessings to our community.
